Hi Jeremy,
I’m here in the US! I’m visiting my cousin Peter. Last night, he took me to an
American football match. I was really (1) __________________ (excite) about it!
I didn’t know much about the sport, but I was (2) __________________ (interest)
in learning about it. At first, I found the rules (3) __________________ (confuse).
But Peter explained them very clearly and I could understand them. American
football is a very (4) __________________ (fascinate) sport! It’s definitely not
(5) ________________ (bore) and the athletes were all (6) _________________
(amaze)! They had so much strength, speed and power! I was
(7) __________________ (surprise) by that.
I was also (8) __________________ (shock) by the size of the crowd.
Thousands of spectators were at the match. Unfortunately, some of the people
were (9) __________________ (annoy). For example, the people behind us were
very loud. I was quite (10) __________________ (tire) of them by the end of the
night.
But overall, I really enjoyed the experience. I’ll tell you more about it when I get
back to Hong Kong.
Best,

I’ve been a football coach for 20 years. In that time, I’ve (1) ________________
(successful) coached many great players. I’ve also come up with some advice
for all my players:
• Learn how to kick the ball in different ways. You should know how to kick
it (2) __________________ (gentle) and very (3) __________________
(hard).
• Study other players (4) __________________ (careful). You can learn a
lot from both your teammates and your opponents.
• Treat your teammates (5) __________________ (respect). When
teammates respect each other, they are more likely to succeed.
• Always think (6) __________________ (positive). Most players perform
(7) __________________ (good) when they feel positive. But when they
play (8) __________________ (bad), they let it get them down.
• Learn how to lose (9) __________________ (graceful). We all lose
sometimes. It’s important not to get too upset about it. Instead, think
about what you can learn from the loss.
Be proud of yourself when you win. Winning a match is great feeling! Always
take time to celebrate (10) __________________ (happy).
