Nur Fadhilah Bahar proposes applying English movies to improve students' speaking capabilities in three ways: 1) Movies introduce students to a new language and help speaking skills both inside and outside the classroom; 2) Students will automatically learn about foreign cultures, pronunciation, and gain knowledge through movies which are easily accessible; 3) Lynch found that movies aid learning by demonstrating various accents, cultures, history, and motivating students through their audio-visual elements. Nur suggests using short 10-15 minute movies.

Applying english movies to improve students' speaking capability
English movies can be applied to introduce students to a new language and help their speaking capability in the teaching and learning process outside the classroom as well as in the classroom. Applying English movies to help students' speaking capability will automatically learn about foreign cultures, gain knowledge, and know how foreigners pronounce words where access to use or use movies as learning is very easy in the digital age. Lynch (2006) states that there are five reasons why film is used as a medium of instruction : variety of accents can be demonstrated, cultural slices can be demonstrated, historical changes can be easily demonstrated, using audio-visual elements aids learning, and movies are great to watch. In this study, short movies were used because the duration of the film was better 10- 15 minutes. To apply English movie students will be more interested in learning to speak because it presents animated images or audio visuals and motivates students to speak more English .
