Happy Cactus Crochet Pocahontas-1

A Crochet pattern by Happy Cactus Crochet
Materials:
1) 3.00 mm hook
(I use this hook to match my yarn (yarn which
recommends 4-5mm hooks)
2) Worsted Yarn - beige, black, white, cream
beige, cream
3) Polyester fiberfill (toy stu ng)
4) 8 mm safety eyes
5) tapestry needle
6) fabric glue
*USE A HOOK SIZE SMALLER THAN

RECOMMENDED ON THE YARN*
This will help to reduce holes in the amigurumi.
Abbreviations: *This pattern uses US crochet terms*

ch = chain * This pattern uses US crochet terms *
sc = single crochet (US single crochet = UK double crochet)
st = stitch (US double crochet = UK treble crochet)
sl = slip
rnd = round
tog = together
Hdc = half double crochet Finished doll size = aprox 25 cm tall
Dc = double crochet
Tr = treble crochet

Spine - (Neck support)
WITH BEIGE:
Rnd 1: ch 2, sc 6 in second chain from hook

Fasten o and weave in the ends.
Use this piece later inside of the neck

for extra neck support.
BODY - Starting at the feet

Eye embroidery:
Using tapestry needle and black yarn, sew a line

going over the eyes to the side of the eye.
Then, using white yarn, sew a line around the

bottom outside edge of the eyes.
Eyebrow embroidery:
Using tapestry needle and black yarn, sew

eyebrows above the eyes.
- Each line about 4 sts wide
- 2 - 3 rnds above the eye
Nose embroidery:
Using tapestry needle and beige yarn, make a

couple of sts of approx 3 sts wide.
- 1 rnd below the eyes.

Using tapestry needle and the tail end from the

arms, sew one on each side of the body.

DRESS:
WITH CREAM BEIGE:

Ch 19
Rnd 1: starting in the 2nd ch from the hook,

sc in each st along (18)
Rnd 2 - 5: ch 1 & turn,
Sc in each st along (18)
Rnd 6: ch 1 & turn,
(sc in next 8 sts, sc 2 in next st) along (20)
Rnd 7: ch 1 & turn,

(sc in next st, sc 2 in next st) along (30)
Rnd 8 - 9: ch 1 & turn,
Rnd 10: ch 1 & turn,
Rnd 11 - 12: ch 1 & turn,
Rnd 13: ch 1 & turn,
Rnd 14 - 15: ch 1 & turn,
Fasten o and Leave the end long.
WITH CREAM BEIGE:

Pick up 11th st along,
Rnd 1: starting in the picked up st,

sc in 16 sts along (16)
Rnd 2: turn & DO NOT ch 1 (decrease by missing

the first st),
Sc in next 13 sts (13)

(decrease 2 by not sc in the last 2 sts of the rnd)
Rnd 3: turn & DO NOT ch 1,


WITH CREAM:
Pick up 1st st,
Ch 2,
Rnd 1: starting in the picked up st,

Dc 3 in each st along
DRESS STRAP
WITH CREAM BEIGE:

Ch 26
Rnd 1: starting in 2nd ch from the hook:

sc in each st along (25)
COLOR CHANGE TO CREAM:

Rnd 2: ch 1 & turn,
Fasten o and leave the end long.
Wrap the dress around the doll with the seam at

the side of the body.
- Using tapestry needle and the cream

beige tail end from the dress, sew up the
side connecting the dress.
- Then sew around the top of the dress into

the body of the doll, to secure the dress in
place.
(leaving a few rnds for the neck)
Weave in the ends,

- Wrap the strap around the top of the
body, over one arm and under the other
arm
- Using tapestry needle and the tail end

from the strap, sew the ends of the strap
together at the back and secure it in
place in the body.
Weave in the ends.
BELT:
WITH BROWN:
Ch 19
- Wrap the belt around the waist of the doll

and tie the ends together at the back.
HAIR:
Hair wig part 1:
WITH BLACK:
(magic circle) (6)
Rnd 3: (sc in next st, sc 2 in next st) around (18)
Rnd 4: (sc in next 2 sts, sc 2 in next st) along (24)

Starting in the 3rd ch from the hook:

HAIR WIG SHOULD BE APPLIED WRONG SIDE UP.
Pin the hair wig part 1 onto the top of the head
● Rnd 1 of the hair wig (part 1) should be on

the centre of the top of the head.
● The first hair strand and last hair strand

should be on either side of the face.
(there is a small gap of a couple of sts
between the 1st & last hair strand that
should be at the top of the forehead)
● Pin down each hair strand side by side

around the head.
- Hair strands should be glued from the top

of the head and down the strand until in
line with the eyes,
the rest of the hair strand can fall freely.
Remove one hair strand at a time, apply fabric

glue to the hair strand, and pin it back in place
on the head.
- Keep the hair pinned in place until the

glue is completely dry!
HAIR WIG SHOULD BE APPLIED WRONG SIDE UP. Hair wig part 2:
There are 12 hair strands.
Pin the hair wig part 2 onto the top of the head In the photos the hair strands are labels 1 - 12 to how
the hair strands are spread around the head.
● Pin down each hair strand, starting with 2

hair strands sweeping to the right across
the forehead for the bangs. (strands 1 - 2)
● Pin the rest of the hair strands (strands 3 -

12) spread around the head.
- Hair strands should be glued from the top

of the head and down the strand until in
line with the top of the eyebrows,
the rest of the hair strand can fall freely.
Remove one hair strand at a time, apply fabric

glue to the hair strand, and pin it back in place
on the head.
- Keep the hair pinned in place until the

glue is completely dry!
