How to play

To accompany the board game you will need to print one set of the Flashcards for
speaking and listening or Flashcards for home resources. Be sure to uncheck
either Show text or Show image before printing them (depending on whether you
have images or text showing on this board game - the idea is that the printed
flashcards have text and the board game has images, or the opposite).

Learners place their counters on the START tile. The first learner should roll a dice
and move their counter the specified number of tiles.

If the learner lands on text, they must read the definition and then find the
associated image (or vice-versa). If the learner correctly matches the image and
the text, their turn ends and play moves to the next learner. If the learner
chooses the incorrect image/text, the teacher or the other players must try to
provide the answer and the learner needs to say the correct associated language.
This learner must then move back to their starting tile and play moves on to the
next learner.

If a learner lands at the bottom of a snake, they must move their counter to the
bottom of the snake. Then, their turn ends and the next learner can play.

If the learner lands at the bottom of a ladder, they must move their counter to
the top of the ladder. Then, their turn ends and the next learner can play.

The first learner to reach the FINISH tile wins.

As an extension, you can use the word cards without the image, get the learner to
spell the correct word, or put the word into a sentence.
