Literature Review

This review of the literature surrounding offset and digital print standards and quality based
assurance practices begins with an overview of the approach of the Reliance advertising &
printing (RAP) to specifying quality requirements. The RAP is an agency whose mission is
to produce and distribute information products and services using both traditional and
digital printing processes. Approximately 70% of the printed work it produces today is
purchased from commercial sources. From 2004, the RAP’s Quality Control and Technical
Department established the Quality Assurance Through Attributes Program (QATAP) to
provide specifications and quality assurance procedures for its printed materials.

The evaluation of image quality traditionally has been one of visual defect detection, as
assessed by the customer. The presence or absence of undesired visual print attributes
within a final product (e.g., hickies, poor text readability, excessive color variation,
extraneous marks) would lead to the rejection or acceptance of a job. QATAP’s model
defines attributes and data collection procedures, and allows the use of a demerit system to
determine if a job meets the required quality levels. In practice, a print demerit is assigned
to attributes of the printed product that are inadequate, unacceptable, or which fail to meet
specific requirements. The model allows print quality to be turned into numbers, which can
then be used for management and control purposes.

In a paper written by Ian C. White entitled “The Print Quality Index, A Management Tool,”
three categories of defects are defined: minor, major and critical (White, 1975). Minor
defects are slight imperfections which, if noticed, would not be the source of any complaint.
A minor defect does not fall outside of any specified numerical tolerances. Major defects
are defects which seriously affect the overall visual appearance of the product. Examples of
these defects are hickies, streaks, and mottle. Major defects fall outside of specified
tolerances. Critical defects are serious deviations from specifications which jeopardize the
integrity of the product (e.g., the cover of a book tears away from the spine when it’s laid
flat). When the number of print demerits exceeds a specified tolerance level, particularly
with critical defects, there is sufficient cause to reject the job.

Within the offset printing field, there are various understandings on how to deal with
conformance. This situation developed in part because the maturity of offset technology has
resulted in the development of many standards and industry-recognized practices.

Digital printing, when compared to offset printing, is a hands-off process. An offset press
operator who has tested the inks and substrates can make modifications (e.g. by adding
surfactants, defamers, primers, etc., or adjusting plate pressure, press speed, ink coverage,
etc.), either prior to a pressrun or on the fly, to make up for any problems that might occur
on the press. On the flip side, most production digital printing processes depend on the use
of certified paper to perform to their best capacity. Any adjustments that need to be made to
the actual press require the intervention of technical support personnel other than the press
operator.
The easiest way to evaluate the performance of a firm is to compare its present ratio with
the past ratio. It gives an indicator of the direction of change and reflects whether the firm’s
financial performance has improved, deteriorated or remained constant over time. (Pandey,
2004).

Van Horne & Wachowicz Jr (2005) stated that to evaluate a firm’s financial condition and
performance the financial analyst need to perform “checkups” on various aspects of a firm’s
financial health. A tool frequently used these checkup is a financial ratio.

Now a day, increase of competition in printing sector, every company is trying to provide
their customers better services as much as possible to ensure maximum satisfaction.

SWOT
Analysis
SWOT Analysis

The way to accomplish this is to do a SWOT analysis on Reliance Advertising & Printing .
While the name SWOT may sound like something to chase away gnats, it’s actually an acronym
that stands for “Strengths,” “Weaknesses,” “Opportunities” and “Threats.”
This method is one of the easiest ways for analyse the internal and external factors mainly
financial factors that can affect Reliance Advertising & Printing’s future performance as well
as plan for and accomplish future goals.
Every company has a finite supply of workers, finances, supplies and other resources. So I
probably want to know (like every other company out there) how use these resources to benefit
Reliance Advertising & Printing. A SWOT analysis will answer this question.
The purpose of doing a SWOT analysis finance workup is to create business strategies that will
help Reliance Advertising & Printing Company adapt and align its available resources with the
environment where it operates.
When I conduct an analysis on Reliance Advertising & Printing, it allows I to pinpoint issues
that can either help or hinder the organization. In doing this, better able to create strategies that
help remain competitive and position Reliance Advertising & Printing company for maximum
growth.
Every agency has a finite supply of workers, finances, supplies and other resources. So
probably want to know (like every other agency out there) how can use these resources to
benefit Reliance Advertising & Printing company. A SWOT analysis will answer this question.
The purpose of doing a SWOT analysis marketing workup is to create business strategies that
will help Reliance Advertising & Printing company adapt and align its available resources with
the environment where it operates.
When I conduct an analysis on Reliance Advertising & Printing agency, it allows to pinpoint
issues that can either help or hinder the organization. In doing this, better able to create
strategies that help remain competitive and position Reliance Advertising & Printing company
for maximum growth.
Now Let’s Try Creating One…
This may be one of the easiest finance tactics to actually create. All I need a paper and pencil
(or in this technologically advanced world, a computer and… that’s it)! Create four squares on
a piece of paper (or Reliance Advertising & Printing computer) and label one strengths, one
weaknesses, and the two others opportunities and threats.
Next, examine Reliance Advertising & Printing company based on their strengths, weaknesses,
opportunities, and threats and organize them in their corresponding square. And that’s it! It
seriously is as easy as it sounds.
But there are a few rules I want to follow to make Reliance Advertising & Printing SWOT
analysis as effective as possible, and here they are…
List only three items per category
Stick to the facts (no opinions!) to avoid biases and unreliable information
Make weaknesses and opportunities action oriented
Be as specific as possible when listing items in each category

Internal Factors
The strengths and weaknesses of Reliance Advertising & Printing marketing agency represent
internal factors that I have some measure of control over and are probably the easiest to
identify. For example, manpower can be categorized as a strength or weakness, depending on
whether Reliance Advertising & Printing available manpower is lazy or properly trained.
When I are doing Reliance Advertising & Printing SWOT analysis on Reliance Advertising &
Printing marketing agency, leave no stone unturned. Look for strengths and weaknesses in the
following areas:
 Resources such as knowledge and brand equity
 Capabilities
 Company culture
 Management
 Marketing
 Human resources
 Competencies
 External Factors

Opportunities and threats, on the other hand, require a little more thinking. They are external
factors that I have absolutely no control over. For instance, changes in the economic climate or
a shift in competitors’ actions are considered external threats. These factors can represent either
opportunities or threats, it simply depends on the situation.
When I look for opportunities and threats, identify all the external forces that could have an
impact on Reliance Advertising & Printing internet marketing agency. I can find these factors
by evaluating:
 Market changes
 Competition
 Economic changes
 Social and demographic shifts
 Technology
 Regulatory changes
 Let’s Dive Deeper Into Each Category…

4.1 Strengths
In a SWOT analysis, I want to say which strengths Reliance Advertising & Printing marketing
agency has that will help meet Reliance Advertising & Printing organizational goals. Whether
the goal is to earn bigger profits, improve staff training or expand operations, a SWOT finance
analysis can help I figure out what kind of resources and processes I have available to help I
forge ahead.
The SWOT analysis can also give the foresight I need to sustain and improve on Reliance
Advertising & Printing agency’s goals once I achieve them. When I are trying to pinpoint
Reliance Advertising & Printing company’s strengths, ask Reliance Advertising & Printing
self what is it I have or do that’s better than Reliance Advertising & Printing competitors?
(Hopefully it’s a lot!)
Example:
If Reliance Advertising & Printing team did a SWOT analysis on Reliance Advertising &
Printing agency today and the results revealed that one of Reliance Advertising & Printing key
strengths was above average marketing expertise, how would I leverage this quality to make
gains in Reliance Advertising & Printing organization? An ideal solution would be to come up
with a marketing tactic that communicates Reliance Advertising & Printing expertise to the
right demographic to help them see how Reliance Advertising & Printing agency can give their
companies an edge.

4.2 Weaknesses
No matter how powerful or successful a company is, they all have weaknesses they have to
balance or turn into strengths. The key is to be completely honest. When I are, it will allow I
to take a realistic look at any products, services, resources and behaviors that are inferior to
Reliance Advertising & Printing competitors’.
When I are trying to pinpoint Reliance Advertising & Printing marketing agency’s weaknesses,
ask Reliance Advertising & Printing self, what I can improve on to catch up with or leave
Reliance Advertising & Printing competitors in the dust?
Example:
An example of a SWOT analysis marketing agency weakness is unskilled employees. If I
workers are undertrained and don’t know their hands from their feet, it puts Reliance
Advertising & Printing company at risk for failure. In order to combat the weakness of poorly
trained workers, I could put together a benefits package that attracts more qualified workers. I
can also simultaneously implement educational programs to improve the skill-level and
training of Reliance Advertising & Printing current employees.

4.3 Opportunities
Part of growing Reliance Advertising & Printing marketing agency and staying competitive is
being able to identify opportunities so I can capitalize on them. Reliance Advertising & Printing
SWOT analysis will allow I to identify opportunities that I can seize right now, as well as
longer term opportunities I can take advantage of later. When I’re always on the lookout for
opportunities, I can rework business plans to stay ahead of the game.
When I are trying to identify opportunities, ask Reliance Advertising & Printingself how I can
use non-controllable external factors to Reliance Advertising & Printing agency’s advantage?
Example:
Unlike with other industries, a downturn in the economy can be a major opportunity for a
marketing agency. Think about it… when the economy tanks, business owners are willing to
do just about anything they can to keep their customers spending money.
If I position Reliance Advertising & Printingself properly, I can convince these businesses that
Reliance Advertising & Printing services are indispensable to their survival. When they go in
and reevaluate their budgets, they will likely scale back spending on other processes and
allocate a larger chunk to marketing development.

4.4 Threats
Since crystal balls don’t really work, I can only guess how a perceived threat will affect
Reliance Advertising & Printing marketing agency. In most cases, I will have to rely on
analysts’ forecasts and other reliable, unbiased information to help I make the best possible
judgment.
Threats can ruin Reliance Advertising & Printing company, so once I identify what they are,
it’s important to take steps to avoid them. In instances where it is not possible to avoid threats,
Reliance Advertising & Printing goal should be to reduce their impact as much as possible.
Example:
If Reliance Advertising & Printing SWOT analysis identifies one of Reliance Advertising &
Printing agency’s threats as competition, I might consider doing a SWOT on competing
agencies. I can research the competition and give Reliance Advertising & Printing best effort
to identify their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Knowing how Reliance
Advertising & Printing business compares to others can help I develop a contingency plan to
reduce the threat from Reliance Advertising & Printing competition.
Findings

From the above analysis I have discovered some key points. Based on the key points I have
made a conclusion about the specific question. Each question has been made one
conclusion. Based on all conclusions I am going to make a single conclusion.

 Promotional activities which will introduce their brand in front of rural mason and
people. They are not using television media at present, but I think they should do it.
 Cash++ and Eid 2 Eid offer is continuing from 2009, which are successful offer
compare to other company’s offer. But its successful rate is decreasing day by day with
customer’s interest by seeing same thing again and again. So, I think they should provide
a little bit different offer to their customer from next year.
 They should do some CSR activities, which will help them to add more brand value.
 They should have separate budget for branding department which will be used
throughout the year except offer period. This will create a solid brand image separated
from offer period branding.
 They should provide billboard in striations that used their product on that construction
along with company logo, which will increase their brand awareness.
Analysis –

 Door to door self marketing: Door to door self marketing is one of the fastest growing
areas of advertising and promotion. By reaching out to smaller targeted audiences
advertisers have improved their creative approaches to utilize more strengths of direct
response.

 Personal network: Advertising agency authority have good network with different
level person, such as family relation, friend circle, professional network etc. by which
advertising agency get order.

 Political relationship: Political relation response to collect client in an advertising

firm, generally it become unethical work in our country but this practice is going
smoothly in our country.

 Word of mouth: Word of mouth also a great procedure for collecting client. It is
depend on goodwill and publicity of an advertising agency. When a marketer decides
to market their product they search or ask some people about excellent advertising firm
by which they get good services.

 Online search result: A marketing manager tries to find out a good advertising agency
by using online. Advertising firm makes a well website, so that people can find them
easily.

Recommendations

To create a sustainable and strong brand I have some recommendations which are given
below-

Credit Facility: To increase the facility and to compete with the strong competitor they can
introduce another little bit more credit facility for their retailer so that they try to give brand
to take a strong more emphasis to this brand for their own facility. And if they do this they
will help the section, because without a strong brand image they could not sell ¾ the product
after a certain stage.
Mobile Ad: They can use mobile marketing to create a strong brand. Like- they can make a
deal with the mobile operator for SMS advertisement on phone to those people who use
01711. Series numbers interns of GrameenPhone. Television advertisements for Reliance
Advertising & Printing competitors and to create brand associations with the customer they
should launch it again.

Endorser involvement: people who use the GP from the beginning of the launch of GP and
these people are more or less 35+ age years old and the target customer of Reliance
Advertising & Printing. Or they can target to the star subscriber to the GP, or can give some
discount through this SMS.

Scholarship program: To create a strong brand they can launch a scholarship program to
give scholarship to the mason r’s children. Because, a large portion of cement consumer are
mason the BUET test result more reliable like Professor Jamilur ReZa Choudhury
(B.Sc. Engineering or civil enginee d civil engineer.

Event marketing and sponsorship: By event marketing and sponsorship Reliance

Advertising & Printing can link their brand to events popular among the customers. hoosing
sponsorship events or activities, identification with a product and thus brand recall can be
enhanced. Though they are sponsoring many events but they are strongly related with
cement sectors. They need to sponsor different kinds of event which will make their brand
stronger. The events can be chosen based on the attendees’ attitudes and usage
regarding certain products or brands. They can also sponsor events related to their brand to
boost up the brand image.

Radio: Now a day’s radio became a very useful medium of advertising. So Reliance
Advertising & Printing can use this medium for building their brand.

Resourceful Website: The www.premiercement.com contains less useful information

for the customer related to the products and promotion. It’s a world of technology,
where customers try to search and gather information before buying a product. So many of
them use internet as a mean of collecting information of specific product.

CSR Activity:
Reliance Advertising & Printing can take the initiative to light/sponsor lamp post of is getting
less focus from the internet users. The website should be well maintained where the product
news and promotional news will be given. There should also be a section
for feedback/reviewing for the customer where they can rate/review the product. When
a customer gets his answer in become satisfied. A satisfied customer become loyal to a brand
and helps the brand to become a well-known brand.

Awareness Program: Reliance Advertising & Printing can take an initiative to educate
the people of the country about the correct use of their product. Because the wrong use
of these product are causing harmful result. For this they can organize seminar, round
table equity. They will be considered as a socially responsible brand. As a whole the brand
will be established as discussion etc. If they conduct awareness program like this than their
brand image in the target customers mind will increase and they will have positive brand a
socially responsible and powerful brand as well.

7. Conclusion

Reliance Advertising & Printing. Brand image allow consumers to buy with confidence, and
provide a route map through an incredible collection of choice. The real power of powerful
brands is that they meet the expectations of those that buy them or, to put it another way, they
