Rack Installation and Grounding
Before to start the Installation please ensure that you have the site Engineering document
describing the Physical installation in order to know where to install the Indoor / Outdoor
equipments.

Indoor units of the 9500 MPR system can be installed in 3 different ways :

• ETSI (WTD) Rack 21’’

• Standard Newton Rack 19’’
• The equipement can also be installed on the wall

For each of the above type of installation special mechanical supporting fixtures are available.

Warning : The rack must be connected to the ground before any electrical connection is performed.
The grounding cable must be the same section size as the power cables connected to the batteries.

Antenna fixing & Polarization
1. Antenna mounts are designed for use on industry-standard 114 mm OD pipe-mounts.
2. Depending of the antenna, assemble the Antenna Kit corresponding to the manufacturer's installation instructions.
3. Check or change the polarization on the Antenna nose. Follow the instructions supplied with each antenna.
4. Fix the Antenna on the standard 114 mm OD pipe-mounts.

Silicon grease must be put on the nose adapter O-ring when indicated in the manufacturer's
installation instructions. If grease for O-ring is not mentioned, it must be avoided

Antenna fixing & Polarization
The survival wind speed of 200 km/h (125 mph) is achieved with one swaybar at the reflector
supporting plate. This avoids the risk of reflector damage and simplifies the installation.

Antenna Alignment
– (A) LEMO connector, to be plugged into LEMO connector on MPT-HC/MPT-MC.
– (B) Banana plugs : output is a 0 to +5V DC voltage proportional to the radio Rx field. During equipment line–up, through a
multi–meter it is possible to easily point the antenna until the measured voltage is the maximum, corresponding to the
maximum radio Rx field.

- Ensure the antennas are aligned on the main beam, and not a side lobe

The MPT has lemo connector to check the Received signal (RSSI)
