MATTERS TO DISCUSS DURING THE MEETING WITH INDIAN

WAYAHEAD ON OPERATIONALIZATION OF AIS

1. The AIS transponder is an important tool required on board Dornier 228

for locating illegal activity, since ships that prefer sail unnoticed often refrain
from transmitting an AIS signal, while still be visible on Radar.

2. The GoI has not provided a compatible AIS software to be used in

Dornier 228 aircraft while handing over the aircraft to Sri Lanka, which has
curtailed the use of AIS system on board.

3. Hence, GoI is requested to make the AIS system fully serviceable by

providing a compatible AIS software and related accessories (if required) for the
Dornier 228 aircraft for the effective conduct of maritime operations.

RETRIEVAL OF COMPASS III CAMERA RECORDING

4. The facility has not been provided to retrieve recorded data in

CoMPASSS III camera system during mission which are vital mission review,
report generation and reference purpose.

5. Hence, GoI is requested to provide the equipment required to retrieve

recorded data in CoMPASSS III camera system.

DISCUSSION OF THE PROPOSAL OF FOLLOW-ON AIRCRAFT

6. The avionics system/payload configuration of the follow-on aircraft.

7. The requirement of obtaining competency/additional training for the

maintenance of follow-on aircraft.

8. Requirement of spares/ specific tools for the maintenance of follow up

aircraft.

9. Possibility of carrying out Major overhaul in Sri Lanka of avionics

systems by Avionics Workshop?

10. Whether the Laptop installed with AIS software is provided along with
surveillance package?
