Egyptians live in a very dry area. Thus they usually use long and mostly a body covering
dress. The most used outwear is "kaftan" which is a coat-like cloth piece with long wide
sleeves. Kaftans are generally made from silk, cotton, brocade and satin. Also they wear
skullcap or a fez on their head. This protects them from extreme heat and dry weather.
Now imagine you meet a man from Egypt and write a short conversation that you would like
to have with him. You can have a comparative discussion between the traditional outfit of
your country and theirs. A man in Egyptian outfit is given below for reference.
you : Hello! I am
you :

The northern region of Egypt is bounded by two deserts whereas the western part covers
almost 700000 square kilometers. The Western Desert of Egypt is a part of the Sahara. Overall
it covers about two-thirds of the land area of the country. There are Four major deserts and
two smaller ones. The most fascinating thing about having so many deserts is to have camels
as vehicles. Do you know how to draw a camel? Here is camel half-drawn which needs to
be finished. Complete the drawing and colour it as per your choice of colours. Then add in
the desert landscape.
As Egypt has a dry desert climate, we do not find a wide range of natural forests. The native plants are usually leafless, thorny
and slender. The native species of the trees include acacia, palm, date palm, tamarisk, cactus, bamboo and about 100 types of
grasses. Also there are some aromatic herbs and succulents that are found often. The coastal area has some rich variety of
plants in spring. Here we have listed some trees and plants that are found in Egypt. Look at them carefully and mark if any of
them resembles any of the trees you find around you.

In ancient Egypt Pharaos, princes and the statesmen used to engage in various types of
sports and games. From the drawings and inscriptions on the walls and monuments, we
come to know that the Egyptians used to practise wrestling, swimming, rowing, shooting,
fishing, athletics and gymnastics. Apart from these activities they enjoyed solving
puzzles. Several walls of pyramids and monuments are found with different codes and
puzzles written in hieroglyphics. Can you write the name of your favourite sport using the
