LISTENING 1
Review of sources for listening practice
 Duration: 13/12/2021- 3/1/2021
 Submission: soft copy handed in via Teams, hard copy handed in the faculty on
the due date
 Maximum achievable mark: 10
 Passing mark: 5

REQUIREMENTS
The following are different types of source for listening practice
A. Google Podcast
B. Apps on smart phones
C. Video websites
D. Audio websites
E. Published books
Write a review of TWO LISTENING SOURCES of the list above. One type of source
is assigned by the teacher and the other is of your free choice.
Note: The source can be:
 a channel on Youtube,
 a channel on Google Podcast,
 a specific app on smart phone (except Youtube and Google Podcast app),
 a website providing audios and exercises for practice
 a published book (except for Collin Listening for Life B1+)
Your review has to consist of the TWO following points:
- Description of the sources: provide information about different features of the sources,
such as:
 main topics
 main types of exercises
 functions offered in cases of apps or websites
 targeted learners (proficiency levels, learning styles, interests)
  advantages
 disadvantages
 and so on

- Listening practice: report on your own listening practice from 4 - 10 pieces for each
source. The overall time length of all recordings for each source should be about 15-20
minutes. This part should include the information about:
 the length of each recording
 main contents
 lists of new/useful words and collocations (Definitions, pronunciation and
examples should be included in the list of new words. Examples should be
included in the the list of collocation.)
