Glossary of Terms
These terms and acronyms are commonly used throughout the course, so use this as a reference if you hear or
see a financial term you aren’t familiar with.

Budget Code
In Procore, a budget code is applied to line items in Procore's financial management tools to give you the ability to
categorize line items. It identifies costs for budgetary reporting and consists of a cost code, cost type, and sub job
combination (if the sub jobs are enabled on the project). It can also include a division to align with the CSI
MasterFormat. For example, 01 General Requirements, 02 Site Construction,

Canned Reports
A canned report is preformatted reports that are view- and export-ready.

Change Events
On a construction project, a change event is any change that affects the scope of work on a construction project.
Examples include project changes that affect the scope of the work to be completed, project schedule, costs, and
more. A change event is typically recorded in writing and precedes the creation of a change order, which allows your
team members and stakeholders to prepare for a cost change, before it becomes an actual cost.

Classification
A classification is a way for your company to categorize your employees. To provide your company with flexibility, you
can create a customized classification list that suits your businesses specific needs in the Company level Admin tool.
After creating a classification, you can assign them to your employee's user accounts in Procore's Directory tools. You
can also view those classifications with your employee and worker time entries in the Timecard tool, Timesheets tool,
and Timecards section of the Daily Log tool.

Company Level Timesheets

Procore's Company level Timesheets tool gives you the ability to track, modify, and approve current-week time entry
data for employees who have been added as contacts in Procore's Company level Directory tool and for 'workers' who
have been added in the Project level Crews tool.

Configurable Fieldsets
A configurable fieldset is a group of fields in certain Procore tools that can be set to optional, required, or hidden,
depending on the needs of your company. This allows for better control over data entry when users create and edit
items in Procore projects.

its author can include data captured by specific Procore tools, specify the desired column layout, and also define how

similar in function to a Contacts Group in an email program and is not associated with any security settings.

Procore has designed a new Expense Allocations feature in the Company level Admin tool to provide Contractors a
statement of cost allocation for the project level. This provides Contractors with the ability to bill Procore costs to the
client. As a Contractor, the costs for your Procore technology investment may be reimbursable. This feature creates
the necessary statement of allocation to ensure that you have the proper PDF documentation to recover the cost of
your Procore investment.

Extracts
Procore Extracts is a desktop application for Windows computers that allows 'Admin' users to download (i.e. extract)
information from Procore projects.

inspection or choose to modify, add to, or edit a company template on a project-by-project basis.

Levels of Architecture
In Procore there is a company and project level of architecture. The company level is to manage overall settings and
provide an overview of your projects, while managing project specifics at the project level.

Locations & Tiered Locations

In Procore, locations and tiered locations give users the ability to link different Procore objects (e.g., Drawings,
Documents, RFIs, Submittals, and more) to specific locations on a job site. This helps project team members to
pinpoint the exact location(s) on a job site where a defect was observed, where equipment is to be installed, or where a
project change order occurred.

Multiple Response Sets

The option to create multiple response sets provides you and your team with flexibility and customizable options that
fit your company's needs. These multiple response sets are created at the Company level and then assigned to
existing items within a Company level inspections template.

Observations
Project managers can use the Observations tool to assign tasks to other project team members. These observations
can encompass scopes of work including quality, safety, commissioning, warranty, and work to complete. Unlike the
Punch List tool, Observations is designed to be used at any phase in the project lifecycle.

corresponding project's Directory tool.
