ANALYSIS
a. ISSUE
Globalization and technological advancements reason behind shuffling economic structure in
Hong Kong and rest of the world in 2002. The company faced ample challenges.

b. CASE DATA ANALYSIS

Issue directly related to the data included in the case study. The company followed some ancient
techniques of leadership. The leader’s belief is that if they keep these strategies alive this will
help them to grow eventually. To cope with this situation, they need to introduce some futuristic
strategies which will help their business to stay in the pace.

c. ALTERNATIVES
1.Offshoring and outsourcing
2. Monitoring and adapting to market trends
3. Expanding market reach
4. Developing global supply chains

d. DECISION CRITERIA
The decision should be made in accordance with the growing world of business. They must
improvise themselves in accordance with what are the global requirements.
e. ASSESING ALTERNATIVES
My suggestion, they should try to develop their links with the other countries to directly start
import and export. Which helps them to develop relations of supply chains. Which also helps
them to shift their business to other countries where labor cost is low, and the business is in
demand.

f. SELCTING PREFERRED ALTERNATIVE

So, their preferred alternative is developing global supply chains.

g. IMPLEMENTATION PLAN
First, they must change their teaching and training methods, there is no need to change the
leadership style. Because this is the only way they can grow. Joseph can alone adopt this change
and is able to transfer his skills to others. In addition to this, they must start orientations for
their employees as well as for their customers that they are going to adopt these techniques for
the betterment of everybody. Continuous learning and skill development. Giving the company
employees an opportunity to learn about the market trends. Then they can make relationships
with other countries to expand their business. To counter the problem of globalization the best
option is to increase their market capitalization. Trying to cover as many as countries they can.
Initiates supply chain relationship. And capture the market. There are so many other ways too.
But it’s the 2000s so this is the efficient way they conquer the situation.
