ITT633 Project Descriptions

Semester Mar 2023 – Aug 2023

This project is concerned with automating the network. What is the definition of network
automation? It is the process of using software to automate network and security
provisioning and management in order to maximize network functionality and efficiency
on an ongoing basis. Network virtualization is frequently used in tandem with network
automation.

This project involves a number of tasks:

1. Create a team of four members.
2. Python and Cisco network automation should be studied.
3. Submit a brief proposal (no more than two pages and must include network
topologies and other relevant figures, if any) to your instructor regarding how Cisco
network automation can be used to automate tasks involving any of the following:
(a) OSPF (b) ACLs (c) NAT (d) VPN (e) IPSec (f) SNMP (g) HTTP (i) SMTP.
Obtain your instructor's approval before beginning the project with your team.
4. Numerous YouTubers have posted content demonstrating how network automation
can enhance computer network activities, such as
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FX5m50xfFyM]. Although you are permitted to study
all of them, your project cannot be identical to theirs. Even if the differences are slight, it
should be distinct. The objective here is for you to be creative and produce original work,
distinct from that of others.
5. There are three items that must be submitted:
(a) A report contains chapters 1 (Introduction), 2 (Project Specifications), 3 (Methods),
4 (Results and Analysis), and 5 (Conclusion).
(b) A video presentation to describe your project. The maximum length of the video
should not exceed twenty minutes. The video can be uploaded to YouTube.
(c) A PowerPoint slide describing the project.
6. The submission deadline is week 9, which corresponds to May 22, 2023. The materials
must be uploaded to the uFuture system.
