3. Competitors

Our application's competitors are national and international companies providing

professional and non-professional services to complete small tasks. In this case we have
as an example the following websites:

Studiwork in Figure 4 is a website for students and non-students, in which you can
search for big or small task which can be carried out as private or business projects in a
professional way.

Figure 4: Studiwork (Anon., 2022)

ZenJobs in Figure 5 is a part-time staffing agency that

automatically connects companies and part-timers so they both get exactly
what they're looking for.

Figure 5: ZenJob (Anon., 2015)

Ebay Kleinanzeigen in Figure 6 as the last example there is a well-known website in

Germany where you can upload ads for items and services offered by the public and

4. Value proposition

ASAP Jobs mission:

“Find job at any time and earn money without spending a lot of time searching for it.”

Figure 7:Finding Jobs using ASAP Jobs app Figure 8: Jobs at any time

Despite the current competition in the market, we have determined the advantages of
our platform over others in the market, which are mentioned below:
• Focus in providing main support for Bachelor and Master students.
• Flexible working hours can be arranged between job seekers and job providers
• No previous experience required for completing the tasks.
• User-friendly application for everyone.
• Efficient in finding job opportunities in the same area of residence.
• Faster user registration.
• Efficient search management with less filters and categories.

In order to determinate the quantified value proposition for ASAP Jobs we conduct the
following steps:
1. Initial survey with four categories to determine which is the most relevant.
2. Test three individual with our initial high rated category: help with shopping
3. Secondary survey to filter the two high rated categories into theoretical and
practical work preference from people interested in.
4. Receive feedback to determine what can we improve.
5. Review feedback and analyse our advantages.

10
Experience of How we improved our value proposition:
1.-Initial survey to determine categories of most interest.

Figure 9: Initial Survey

2.- Test our persona making them complete a small task for someone else and obtain
positive and negative feedback after it. (3 Individuals)

Figure 10: Customer Feedback

3.- Return to initial survey and determine the persona profile preferences by asking
them which kind of work they prefer the most. (Practical or Non-Practical Work)
4.- After these being done, we collect the information and decided to start two
categories in ASAP jobs application to cover both preferences: Practical and Non-
practical work)
5.-Identify ASAP Jobs advantages compared to similar apps.

11
5. Cost structure

Mobile apps development costs starting round from $40,000 to $300,000 and even
$500,000 USD. These are the numbers provided by industry studies and research of
well-known platform such as Clutch and GoodFirms. (Melnik, 2022)

The most significant items that affects cost in developing an App are:

• App design and number of screens

• Number of functions and features
• Complexity of Features
• Complexity of Data Base
• Implementation of security protocols like HIPAA or GDPR
• Quality Test and assurance

In Table 2 you can find an overview of the estimated cost of the apps depending on the
complexity including the lead time required to complete the development phase and in
Table 3 we mentioned the different hourly rates in different countries which can help us
reduce our development application cost.

App Type Estimated Cost Time

Simple App Development $40,000 to $ 60,000 2-3 months
Basic App Development $60,000 to $ 150,000 3-6 months
Complex App Development From $300,000 9+ months

Table 2: Cost of developing app

Region Hourly rate, (USD)

Unites States (USA) 120-150
United Kingdom (UK) 100-120
Australia 100-120
Western Europe 80-100
Eastern Europe 30-50
India 20-30

Table 3: Paid rate of programmer based on different countries

12
These are the features for ASAP Jobs application that we considered for our rough
estimate cost:

• User Registration
• Service for two-sided market. (Job Poster and Job Seekers)
• Characteristics (Chat, Booking, Location)
• Links for marketing affiliation

The formula mentioned below is used to calculate the app development cost, the hourly
rate can vary depending on the location of de developer which can be an advantage if
we want to reduce cost.

App Development Cost = (Features * Development Time) * Hourly Rate.

In Figure 9 we mentioned the app estimated cost calculated by Digitalya web site which
are below from the cost mentioned in build fire web site. Each company considered a
different hourly rate depending on the location and the applications features cost from
their company.

6. The Business and Revenue Model

Revenue by Premium version

Premium version Monthly Cost: 1 EUR per month.
• Limit of working hours per month
• Visualize most recent job post as a student.
• Visualize job seekers availability for a specific category
• Notification by email or SMS (No advertisement)

Revenue by Affiliate marketing

In ASAP Jobs knows we know that there is always more we can do to make our business
grow. Therefore, we introduce Affiliate marketing as an alternate stream of income by
products and services related to our niche in our application.
With this process publishers earn a commission by promoting a product or service made
by another retailer or advertiser using an affiliate link. The affiliate earns a commission
each time someone makes a purchase through the unique affiliate link associated with
their recommendation.
How it works:

1. You show an ad or a link for Store “X” on your website, blog, or social network.
2. A customer clicks your unique affiliate link.
3. The customer makes a purchase in Store “X”.
4. The affiliate network records the transaction.
5. The purchase is confirmed by Store “X”.
6. You get paid a monetary commission.

Since ASAP Jobs is initiating operations within two categories, help with shopping and
furniture assembly we decided to join our first partner: Amazon affiliate program.

We maintain our focus in our two categories that matches with Amazon product
categories: Home and Kitchen which can provide us a commission of 3% whenever
someone makes a purchase using the link that will be shown in our application. (Anon.,
2022)

Revenue by Advertisement
ASAP Jobs will include these two types of advertisement, that can be displayed while
the user uses the app.
Banners ads: These kinds of ads are usually placed at the top or bottom of the screen
and are considered the less intrusive. The app experience is not affected; however,
banners generally have low click-through rates and depend on brand recognition.
Video ads: Usually, between 10 and 30 seconds, they play automatically when there
would be natural pauses in the user experience.

14
There are a few different payment methods that we are including for our mobile
application:
• CPM - cost per impression, where you earn money based on the number of
impressions
• CPC - cost per click, where you are paid according to no. of users click on the ad
• CPV - cost per view, you gain revenue based on video views or interactions

Cost per Click (CPC) Most of the advertising networks follows this model for their ads.
Optimal Click through ratio (CTR) for apps is around 1.5 - 2 %. The average revenue per
click (RPC) is around $0.10 for banner ads. It differs based on type of ads. Banner ads
provide the lowest RPC, Video ads provide the best one ($5-10).
Banner ads will be having 30 seconds refresh rate, meaning that every 30 seconds new
ads will be fetched and shown.

Example of how we will earn money:

• Number of ads shown per day
= number of active users * time spent on the app * ads per minute
= 3,500 * 15 min* 2 = 105,000 banner ads.

• Average number of clicks

= number of ads * click rate
= 105,000 * (1.5 / 100) =1,575 clicks
Revenue through ads = Clicks * RPM => 1,575 * 0.10 = $157.5 USD
We are planning on making approximately $157.5 USD per day through banner ads
alone if 50% of the students in Ingolstadt are using our app daily. The revenue will differ
slightly based on your user location. (Corbu, 2022).

15
7. Partnerships

ASAP Jobs is always taking care of the customers by providing the right and necessary
information for job seekers and job providers so that they can start working together as
soon as possible. For a future scope we are planning to expand our scope with the
support of a recruitment agency partnership to help those job providers that are unable
to provide working contract to our job seekers.
