A 3 Operation

When EWL products are operated for

the first time and for every operation
thereafter, it is essential to note the points
mentioned in the section «A 1.3 Safety
measures»!

Put central extraction system into operation.

Switch on supplementary control at mains

switch @. @
Without external signal transmitter and
without external sealed keypad
(automatic mode)

When the dust-generating consumer is put

into operation, the suction path is opened.
When the consumer shuts down, the suction
path is closed after a set after-running time.

With external signal transmitter and

without external sealed keypad

When the signal transmitter is actuated (e.g.

with the foot switch), the suction path is
opened. At the end of the actuation of the
signal transmitter (switch), the suction path
closes after expiry of an after-running time
set on the ABSORmatic plus. The switch-
on state of the dust-generating consumer
has no effect on the suction path.

A 4 Maintenance

■ Repair and maintenance work on the

electrical part of the unit may be performed
only by qualified specialists or trained
persons who have been made aware of the
safety regulations. For maintenance work,
disconnect the mains plug or isolate the
unit completely from the mains supply,
thus cutting off power to the unit.

The supplementary control and the suction

path diverter require no special maintenance.

At regular intervals, check the connections

of the suction hoses and compressed air lines
for leaks.

A 5 Malfunctions

Repair and maintenance work on the

electrical part of the unit may be
performed only by specialists or persons
who have been trained in the factory and
have been made aware of the safety
regulations. Before opening housing parts,
disconnect the mains plug or isolate the
unit completely from the mains supply,
thus cutting off power to the unit.

7
Supplementary control 9045.
The installation is performed in two
steps:

B 3 Installation of the single suction path

switching system (or optionally of the four-
fold suction path diverter) and connection of
the suction hoses. @
B 4 Installation of the supplementary
control.

Connection of the individual components.

B 3 Installation of the suction path swit-
ching system

Installation location
The single suction path switching system @
is installed between the dust collection point
and suction line of the central extraction
system.

Use screw socket ” (optional) if necessary.

24
23
Installation of the suction path diver- 22
ter (optional) 21
Installation location
Install the suction path diverter under the
bench on a technician's workstation.

The mobility of the Bunsen burner 9046-3.eps

tubes must not be restricted by the

installation of the suction path diverter and
the suction hoses.

Install the mounting bracket in a suitable

place under the bench as shown.

Connect Ø 50 mm suction hose to the inlet

of the suction path diverter and lay to the
connection of the central extraction system.
Cut the suction hose to the required length
and connect. If necessary, use screw sockets
(optional).
24
Connect Ø 50 mm suction hoses to the 23
outlets of the suction path diverter and lay to
22
the dust collection point.
21
Cut suction hoses to the required length and
connect to the dust collection points.

If necessary, reduce Ø 50 mm suction hose

to Ø 42 mm.

Hang suction path diverter on mounting

bracket.

8
Supplementary control 9045.
B 4 Installation of the supplementa-
ry control.

Installation location when using the |

single suction path switching system
To ensure a uniform pressure distribution
in the lines fi, the supplementary control
should as far as possible be installed
centrally.

Installation location when using the

optional four-fold suction path diverter Ì \
Ideally, the supplementary control should
be installed under the bench in the case of
the suction path diverter. @

Connection of the individual components

9
Supplementary control 9045.
Installation of the suction line fi

To prevent the membranes in the

single suction path switching systems
@ (or in the four-fold suction path
diverter) from fluttering in the open state,
the membranes must be sucked against the
housing walls by a vacuum. The vacuum
required for this purpose is taken via the
suction line fi at a suitable point of the
central extraction system. To prevent
contamination of the supplementary control
by dirt particles, the protective filter £ #
supplied must be installed at a freely @
accessible point in the suction line fi.

Mount L screw union R 1/8’’ Ì at a
suitable point, chiefly at a reducing socket £
\ between central extraction system and
KaVo suction hose. Make hole required for
this purpose. Wind sealing tape around the
thread of the L screw union and screw the
\ Ì
L screw union into the hole. fi
Lay vacuum hose from L screw union to
nipple # of the supplementary control.

Install protective filter £ at a freely

accessible point in the suction line.

Connect supplementary control to power

supply.

To ensure that the suction paths are

automatically opened when the dust-
generating consumers are put into operation
and are then closed again when the
consumer is shut down, the supplementary
control must be configured by a KaVo
technician or an appropriately trained
person before being put into operation.

B 5 Commissioning

Check for correct connection of all

components.
|
Ensure that the system was configured by a
KaVo technician or an appropriately trained
person.

Using the adjusting wheel |, set the inlet ·

air pressure on the manometer · to 0.8 bar.

Switch on the central extraction system.

Switch on the secondary control at the main ¯

switch ¯.

Put dust-generating consumers connected to

the supplementary control into operation
and check operation of the system (see A 3
Operation).

accepts no liability for defects and their consequences which have arisen or could have arisen as a result of natural wear, improper handling,
cleaning or maintenance, noncompliance with the maintenance, operating and connecting instructions, corrosion, contamination of the air sup-
ply or chemical or electrical influences which are unusual or are not admissible in accordance with the manufacturing regulations. The rights
under the guarantee shall become null and void if defects or their consequences can be attributed to interventions in or modifications to the
product. Claims under the guarantee can be validated only if KaVo EWL is notified of them in writing immediately.
When the product is sent to us, it must be accompanied by a copy of the invoice or of the delivery note, which clearly shows the manufactu-
ring number.
