Typical Hazards

 Poor site condition affecting driving safety:


- Uneven road /route surfaces.
- Unprotected
excavation/trenches.
- Congested loading/unloading
and storage areas.

Impact
 Knocking pedestrian:
- Pre-occupied drivers/operators do not aware
or notice presence of pedestrian.
- Incompetent driver/operator.

Hazard
 Unsafe effort to minimise travelling
trips:
- Overloaded – cause instability and overturn.
- Over speeding - lost control of vehicles.
- Incompetent driver/operator.

structures while reversing
- Incompetent driver/operator.

- Mentally and physically fit with
good eyesight and hearing.

 Safe means of access and egress
to the site.

 Employ trained traffic controller.


 Post appropriate and suitable
warning and directional signs.
 Roads/routes are regularly
maintained.

- Separate pedestrian routes.
- Work in public area barricaded
and posted with suitable warning
and directional signs.

 Speed Limit
- Establish and enforce appropriate
speed limit.

- Prohibit un-authorised passengers on
any plant or machinery except
designate vehicle for transportation of
personnel.
 Knocking Existing Structure
- Engage banskman to assist in
reversing.

- Install goalpost barrier, otherwise
make arrangements with service
provider to insulate the lines.

- Ensure the load does not exceed
permissible safe load.

program.

 Repair and maintenance to be done by competent


mechanics, and record to be kept.
