Belt Tension Adjustment Method

Adjust belt tension using the following procedures:

(1) Stop the machine and turn off the power


Lock and Tag out the power.
(2) Open the left end door and remove belt guard
(3) Loosen the compressor unit mounting bolts
(4) Loosen the top adjusting screw lock nut
(5) Adjust belt tension using the tension
adjustment screw which will lift the air end
(6) Make sure belt tension meets the requirements

(7) Tighten the belt tension adjustment screw lock nut Gauge
(8) Tighten the compressor unit mounting bolts
(6) Reinstall belt guard
(7) Start the machine and listen to the belt to
determine if it is running stable
(8) Install side door.

Note: Belts should be checked every 2,000


hours. Sullair recommends change out
intervals for belts on an annual basis. Belts
are included in the Sullair annual maintenance
kit.
