death. She told him that Randy smoothed things out between the Socs.
After their conversation, Ponyboy talked to the Greasers. They decide
to be together as one group with the Socs. The kids told their parents
about it and the parents agreed. They never fought again. Later in the
evening, Sodapop gave him a letter that says, Dear Ponyboy, the
writing looked like him Father.`` When Ponyboy kept reading, it said
the whole real story about the death and the idea Darry taking over. It
said that they planned everything out before their death. A few minutes
later, when Ponyboy finished reading. There was a knock at the
door.When Sodapop opened the door, he saw Randy, Cherry, and
Marcia and their parents. Darry welcomed the Socs in, and whispered
to Soda,``I invited them for dinner… welcome them.`` Soda calls
