The Prix Credit Suisse Jeunes Solistes is

awarded every twoyears, alternating with
the Credit Suisse Young Artist Award. The Lucerne Festival, the Vienna Philharmonic, the "Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde" in
Vienna and the Credit Suisse Foundation have jointly established the Credit Suisse
Contact persons Young Artist Award with CHF 75,000 in prize money. The aim is to provide highly
talented young soloists with the means and opportunities to perform, thus enabling
Lucerne Festival them to make the decisive breakthrough to a major international career. These
Michael Haefliger musicians will already be on their way to such a career on the basis of their level of
Executive and Artistic Director training and previous performances.

The Credit Suisse Foundation provides the financial backing while the Lucerne Festival,
Credit Suisse Foundation the Vienna Philharmonic and the “Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde” in Vienna contribute

csg.foundations@credit-suisse.com experts. Direct applications are not possible. The age limit for candidates is generally 30
years. Nominees are invited to audition for the “Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde” in
Vienna. The panel's decision is based on an absolute majority in favor of one candidate.

The winner of the Credit Suisse Young Artist Award will appear as a soloist with the
Vienna Philharmonic at the “Lucerne Festival im Sommer”.
