The Christoph Delz Foundation Competition for Composers

The CHRISTOPH DELZ FOUNDATION is based in Basel, Switzerland. Since 1998 it has held a triennial international competition
for composers. The Foundation serves the aims stipulated by the Swiss pianist and pianist Christoph Delz before his death in
1993: to encourage contemporary composers to write serious art-music. The first prize combines an award of 50,000 Swiss
Francs and a guaranteed first performance in Lucerne.

The Christoph Delz Foundation Competition for Composers will be held for the sixth time in 2015.

For composers born after 1 January 1975. Submit a choral work scored for chorus of 24 - 32 SATB and piano, wind quintet, DB
and percussion. The winner receives CHF 50,000 and premiere by SWR Voval Ensemble, Stuttgart in the Lucerne Festival of
summer 2015. 10 - 20 mins. Anon entry.

The Christoph Delz Foundation dedicates its sixth composition competition to choral works.

The previously unreleased work is to be submitted anonymously by 12 January 2015. Eligible to participate are composers of all
nationalities who were born on or after 1 January 1975.

Jury: Carola Bauckholt, Luisa Castellani, Roland Moser (Christoph Delz Foundation), Dorothea Bossert (SWR Vocal Ensemble
Stuttgart), Mark Sattler (Lucerne Festival)

The jury will choose a work that will be awarded the «Prize of the Christoph Delz Foundation» and subsequently premiered by
SWR Vocal Ensemble Stuttgart under the auspices of the Lucerne Festival in summer 2015. The monetary prize amounts to CHF
50,000.
