doric columns but they are taller of leaves that curved

COLUMNS. This is an example of
an architecture with
Doric Columns

PHYSICAL EDUCATION
DAY 3: FIRST-AID FOR COMMON SPORTS ACTIVITIES INJURIES
Goals/Objectives: At the end of the lesson, you will be able to identify appropriate first-aid for injuries and emergency situations.

MUSCLE CRAMPS
Is a sudden contraction of muscles that is extremely painful resulting from inadequate blood supply to muscles.

First-aid treatment for cramps

1. Gently stretch and massage the cramping muscle.
2. Apply an ice massage to the cramped muscle.
3. If you’re experiencing leg cramps, fully straighten the leg and bend over by grabbing the end of the toes. The cramp will
eventually be relieved.
4. Apply muscle pain relief cream.
5. Drink beverages containing potassium, such as water with salt.

HEAT EXHAUSTION
Heat exhaustion can begin suddenly or over time, usually after working or playing in the heat, perspiring heavily, or being dehydrated.

Heat exhaustion signs and symptoms include:

 Cool, moist skin with goose bumps when in the heat

 Heavy sweating
 Faintness
 Dizziness
 Fatigue
 Weak, rapid pulse
 Low blood pressure upon standing
 Muscle cramps
 Nausea
 Headache

If you suspect heat exhaustion

Untreated, heat exhaustion can lead to heatstroke, which is a life-threatening condition. If you suspect heat exhaustion, take these
steps immediately:

 Move the person out of the heat and into a shady or air-conditioned place.
 Lay the person down and elevate the legs and feet slightly.
 Remove tight or heavy clothing.
 Have the person drink cool water or other non-alcoholic beverage without caffeine.
 Cool the person by spraying or sponging with cool water and fanning.
 Monitor the person carefully.
Contact a doctor if signs or symptoms worsen or if they don't improve within one hour.

Call 911 or your local emergency number if the person's condition deteriorates, especially if he or she experiences:

 Fainting
 Agitation
 Confusion
 Seizures
 Inability to drink
 Core body temperature — measured by rectal thermometer — of 104 F (40 C) (heatstroke)

SPRAIN
A sprain is an injury to a ligament caused by tearing of the fibers of the ligament.

Follow the instructions for R.I.C.E.

1. Rest the injured limb. Your doctor may recommend not putting any weight on the injured area for 48 to 72 hours, so you may
need to use crutches. A splint or brace also may be helpful initially. But don't avoid all activity.

2. Ice the area. Use a cold pack, a slush bath or a compression sleeve filled with cold water to help limit swelling after an injury. Try
to ice the area as soon as possible after the injury and continue to ice it for 15 to 20 minutes, four to eight times a day, for the
first 48 hours or until swelling improves. If you use ice, be careful not to use it too long, as this could cause tissue damage.
3. Compress the area with an elastic wrap or bandage. Compressive wraps or sleeves made from elastic or neoprene are best.
4. Elevate the injured limb above your heart whenever possible to help prevent or limit swelling.

Since we are done with those procedures, I want you to make your own Family First-Aid Kit. To be passed when you return this week’s
module.

Here are the procedures that you need to follow.

1. You need a box (Shoebox preferably)
2. Cover it to make it presentable then put a label. “Family first-aid Kit”

That is all you need to do. Next week you will have to put first-aid items inside.
