Through the CoDM project, the BSP aims to address the artificial coin
shortage in certain areas of the country and help ensure that only fit
and legal tender currency is readily available for public use.
With the option to credit the value of deposited coins to e-wallets, the
CoDM project also promotes the use of digital payments and
strengthens financial inclusion.

3. Who are the participating electronic money issuers (EMIs) for the
e-wallet crediting option?
The BSP will announce any additional EMIs that may participate later.
For the option to credit the value of the deposited coins to an e-wallet
account, the mobile number or e-wallet account number will need to
be keyed into the CoDM to facilitate the transaction.
Note: The machine will also accept 5-Piso (round) NGC Coin Series
Mutilated and unfit coins that will not pass the machine’s criteria will
be rejected and will not be given value. Demonetized coins, foreign
currency, and foreign objects (e.g., tokens) will also be rejected by the
machine and returned to the user.

The screen will display the Data Collection clause to inform the
depositor that the information such as, but not limited to, the
quantity, denomination, and amount of deposited coins, date and
time of the transaction, chosen crediting facility, and account number
of e-wallet will be collected by the CoDM. The collection and
processing of all personal data are in accordance with Republic Act
No. 10173 or the Data Privacy Act of 2012.
The depositor will then be given the option to either start a new
transaction or continue a previous one.
If the depositor starts a new transaction, the screen will display the
Coin Retrieval clause with the reminder that coins deposited in the
machine can no longer be retrieved.
If the depositor chooses to proceed, the screen will show the Deposit
Procedure:
1. Place all the coins in the coin slot.
2. Press the “A” button to count the coins
3. Press the “B” button to proceed to conversion
4. Tap the “Denomination” button to show the denominations,
quantity, and corresponding amount of deposited coins.
Alternatively, the initial coin count receipt shall be printed by
the machine.
The screen will then show the crediting options, which include
crediting to GCash e-wallet account or conversion to SM shopping
voucher.
If the depositor chooses to cancel the transaction after the coins are
deposited, the screen will display that the crediting is canceled. The
machine will then issue a receipt with the transaction code, which the
depositor may use later to resume the transaction.

If the cost of the item being purchased is lower than the value of the
voucher, the cashier will issue the depositor a credit memo that will
be valid for use in any SM Store within 30 days.

for this project shall be in-charge of handling the concerns of the BSP,
depositors, and retailers in the event of any disruption in the
operations of the CoDM facilities and any other related technical
issues.
Yes. If the depositor has a valid and unused transaction code issued
from an earlier unsuccessful transaction, he/she may use the
transaction code in other retail establishments with CoDM units.
