Dual Model 40A Picoprobe® Spacing Instr

Picoprobe uctions
Instructions

The Dual Model 40A was designed so that the spacing between the two RF probes can be changed to
accommodate different devices. The Dual Model 40A is made from three parts, a base and two RF probe holders,
held together by three screws.

Precautionary measures:

To adjust the spacing between the two RF probes loosen screw #3 just enough to maintain a slight friction
between holder B and the base. Do not make the screw too loose or the RF probe may pitch down and hit the
substrate. For added protection the probe points should be at least 0.1 inches above the substrate before
attempting to adjust the spacing.
Holder B is designed to slide back and forth in the "V" channel of the base. This "V" channel will preserve
probe tip alignment at different spacings. If screws number 1 and 2 are loosened then this alignment will be lost.

Increasing the spacing:

After loosening screw #3, place a small screw driver or similar object between the RF probe holders and
gently twist the blade to move holder B away from Holder A. Tighten screw number 3 when the desired spacing
is achieved.

Decreasing the spacing:

After loosening screw #3, carefully slide holder B towards holder A until the space between the two RF
probes is less than desired. Be careful not to bump the two RF probes when doing this step. Place a small screw
driver or similar object between the RF probe holders and gently twist the blade to move holder B away from holder
A. Tighten screw #3 when the desired spacing is achieved.

If you do not want to adjust the spacing of the Dual Model 40A Picoprobes®yourself, you may return them
to GGB Industries for re-spacing.
