Conduct a five-minute interview with a classmate, friend, or family member regarding his/her
perceptions of the following concepts of communication. Record and transcribe his/her
response.

Communication Concepts Transcription Response

Communication is not simple. “Yes, I agree with that idea, because the
meaning alone of communication is not as
simple as it sounds, yes we know that
communication is vital for all living
creatures because it is their way to
express their thoughts, feelings, and ideas.
As it brings them closer together, good or
bad relationships may develop, in general
to what I have said, communication could
effect all aspect of our life, whether if its
emotionally, physically, mentally and
psychologically.”
Meanings are in people, not in words. “In my own opinion, it is true that some
people may experience something that
change his or her perspective of certain
words. For instance, you told your
classmate that she was amusing; in your
definition of amusing, it is positive, but
from her definition, it is negative. So a
bad relationship may be developed, so be
careful about how you use  your words
because every person has a different
meaning of each word.”
Communication will not solve all problems. “I defy to that idea, because
communication is a way of expressing
your thoughts and feelings, so how can a
problem be solved if they can’t
communicate with each other.”
Communication does not always require “I don’t agree with that idea also,
understanding. because without a proper understanding,
bad relationships may be developed.”
