“Congratulation, you have been chosen to be reborn in the world I was supervising, young boy.

A haughty woman said while sitting on a golden throne. She was lazily brushing her blonde hair with
a golden brush without even glancing toward my direction. Had her been acting so haughty but due
to her current appearance her image in my mind was similar to the bossy elder sister I had back at
home. After all, she was currently still in her pajama.

I couldn’t process what had exactly happened. As far as I could remember, I was just attending my
class as usual when suddenly I felt my sight got darkened and by the time I came to my senses, I was
already here.

“As a reward, you may ask for any skill you wish to have in your next life.”

She said while checking her appearance with a hand mirror.

Hearing these words, I got excited. I had read many literatures a.k.a. light novels about this event
development. This was a chance for me to get any cheat ability that might help me in the future.

“Umm… in that case, I want an ability to craft any item that possess ability I desired.”

I said without hesitation. The goddess frowned and looked at my direction for the first time.

“I see… It seems like I just pulled out another one of this type huh?”

She sighed. She straightened her back and looked at me.

“Sorry about that, I can’t have you to obtain that ability as it would break the world balance.”

She explained.

“No good huh? Then, if we applied some restrictions, can I obtain that ability?”

I asked again.

“Restrictions, is it?”

She pondered for a moment.

“Then, if I say that the crafted item would have usage, the item ability will not be able to be used by
other people but the crafter, and the crafter must process and procure the materials himself, would
you still want to have this ability?”

She asked again.

“Yes!”

I said excitedly.

“I-I see… Alright, I’ll grant that ability to you.”

“Thank you very much!”

And as soon as I thanked her, I lose my consciousness once again.

When I came to my senses, I found myself in pitch black place. At first I thought that I was born blind
but when my eyes were gradually adapting to the darkness, I felt relieved. I tried to move my body, I
felt a bit sluggish and for some reason I had some trouble balancing my body.
I felt a sudden dizziness when I tried to get on my feet. I was shocked when I felt a sticky wet feeling
coming from my head. I tried to smell the liquid stuck in my hand and smelled it. From the smell of
iron coming the liquid, I was sure what it was.

‘Blood? But where did it come from?’

I said inside my head.

I traced the liquid source and a sudden stinging sensation came from the back of my head when I
trace it. It seems like someone had struck me there with a blunt object. I staggered a little and tried
to find an exit from the dark room by tracing the nearest wall.

I stumbled on several objects along the way but not long after that, I found something that looked
like a door. I tried pushing, pulling or sliding the door but it wouldn’t budge at all. It seems like it was
locked.

I knew it was risky but if I stayed inside this place with this wound unattended, I might have to go
back to afterlife soon. I clenched my fist and banged the door as strong as I could. The sound of the
wooden door being knocked over and over broke the silence.

It was faint but I could hear someone’s voice. I took a deep breath and tried to scream out but my
dried throat was so sore that no voice can came out. In the desperation, I banged the door harder.

‘-ver ther-‘

I could hear a faint voice from somewhere beyond the door. I kept banging the door in order to get
the voice owner’s attention. It didn’t take long time when many footsteps were getting closer. I could
see a faint light source came from the gap of the door.

I felt relieved for a moment but suddenly my body lost it strength and I passed out once again.

I woke up once again and found myself lying on a large bed. There was a bed canopy overhead and
fluffy mattress underneath. I looked around to find any clue about my whereabouts. There were few
furniture found in this room but they all had quite high quality item vibes and the luxurious
wallpaper made me sure that I was at least rescued by someone with a decent amount of wealth.

I raised my body. There was nobody around. Maybe, there was someone would come if I called but
as expected my voice was still unable to come out. Instead of a voice, I felt an incredible pain from
my throat that caused me to cough.

Rushed footsteps echoed from beyond the doorway. A woman in expensive looking dress came
inside and rushed to the bedside to hug me.

“Thank God, you’ve woken up! I thought you’ll never open your eyes anymore, Clauss!!”

She said worriedly. I didn’t recognize her at all but from her reaction, she might be a family member
of mine. And judging from her looks and rough guess of mine about her age and appearance, she
might be my elder sister.

Not long after she came inside the room two ladies in maid uniform came inside the room in hurry
accompanied by a young man on his twenties and a girl around 10 years old or so. They couldn’t help
but express their relieve when they saw me but I had a bit of trouble to get hugged all sudden by
people I didn’t recognize at all.
I didn’t know whether it was a blessing or a curse that I couldn’t speak right now but had I been able
to speak, I bet I would only shatter this festive mood with my dumb question.

“Excuse me, sir, Madam, the doctor has arrived.”

A maid came to announce the arrival of an old man with white beard who seemed to be a doctor. My
family members separated from me and let the doctor to examine me. There was no electronic tools
among the ones he used so I deduced that this world’s technology shouldn’t be that advanced yet.

“How is he, Doctor Mavellin?”

The young man that I thought was my older brother asked.

“I had good news and bad news.”

The doctor said.

“But, first, let me confirm my conjecture first.”

The doctor added.

“Boy, do you recognize me, no, do you recognize anyone in this room?”

The doctor’s question shocked everyone who heard this question. I was at lost, I might as well lied to
him but seeing the worried look of the ones I recognized as a family members, I decided to be honest
and shook my head.

“No way…”

The lady fell to her knees while the young man tried to support her.

“Do you remember who you are?”

The doctor asked again which I answered with negative answer.

“I thought so. My apologize, Sir, Ma’am, As I have feared, it seems like your son had suffered an
amnesia. There’s no sign of anything that threatened his life despite of his wound and malnourished
body after being locked in that place for two days but Klauss-sama might have lost most of his
memories from this incident. Also, it might be only for few days but Klauss-sama also might not be
able to speak from the severe inflammation on his throat.”

The doctors’ words were spot on. Or rather, it’s a miracle that I was able to survive in that situation.
Normally, one would die if they suffer a head injury and being left out in a locked place for 2 days
without food or drink.

“It seems like I had punished them too lightly.”

The young man who turned out to be my father was angry. He clenched his fist as he cursed the one
who assaulted me. I just hope it wouldn’t become something serious.
A few days later, I finally allowed to leave the bed side. The young lady who I thought was my sister
was actually my mother and she was already on her 30’s despite her teenager appearance and the
little girl that came with my father turned out to be my elder sister.
