Subject: Need for People’s Movement for a Clean Yamuna
Sir/Madam
Through the esteemed column of your newspaper, I would like to highlight the
deteriorating condition of river Yamuna and the need to install water treatment
plant to clean the river.
The city of Delhi is getting contaminated water from river Yamuna. The residents
are to be blamed for this. They pollute the river with garbage, sewage and filth.
The river water is full of bacteria, plastic, chemicals and other waste materials. It is
unfit for consumption. The colour of the water has remarkably changed due to
industrial waste. This would lead to serious consequences. The people have been
demanding a Water Treatment plant. The authorities have not yet responded to the
repeated requests. We face a lot of problems due to the unclean water of Yamuna.
It can cause many diseases.
The government should look into the matter seriously and take all the needed
measures to rectify the problem. The people should be made aware of the
importance of keeping the river clean. We all need to get together in order to get
the plant set up in the area.
Yours sincerely
VimtaRoy

Gandhinagar has a huge population which comprises of daily wagers still the area
does not have an Amul milk booth. The residents face many problems as they have
to walk up to 10 kilometers every morning to get their daily stock of milk and milk
products. This has also led to black marketing. The people of the area are getting
harassed. Many conceiving mothers and infants suffer a lot because they are not
able to get milk on time and there is no milk available in the locally.
As the situation is serious, the authorities concerned must be sensitized towards it
and do the needful to solve the problem of the people as soon as possible.

Sub: Traffic congestion on Rajaji Road
Sir
Through the columns of your newspaper, I would like to draw the attention of the
concerned authorities to the appalling condition of the road leading up to Bharat
School.
The entire street is narrow, congested and covered with numerous path holes. This
often causes a traffic jam and inconvenience to students and staff of the school. A
lot of time is wasted both in the morning and afternoon when the school buses have
to leave. The school has filed several complaints to the local authorities but they
seem to have fallen on deaf ears. The situation worsens during the monsoon. It can
also become dangerous threat to the pedestrians.
We expect the authorities to take immediate action to rectify this condition. The
improvement in the condition of the road will ease traffic congestion and ensure
the safety of the citizens. I request you to highlight the problem through the
esteemed column of your newspaper.
Yours truly

Subject: Rash and Reckless Driving

Sir
Through the medium of your esteemed newspaper, I wish to express my concern
about the rash and reckless driving by our city drivers which has led to an
unprecedented rise in the number of road accidents.

One now feels rather scared of these reckless drivers who it seems are all geared to
drive over people and collide with other vehicles. Serious thinking and stern
measures need to be taken up by the traffic police to prevent this problem. Heavy
fines should be levied on over speeding drivers and those who do not follow the
traffic rules. After three consecutive fines the license of reckless drivers should be
confiscated for a minimum period of six months. The traffic police need to deal
very strictly with these careless citizens who indulge in such dangerous driving.

Through the column of your newspaper, I would like to appeal to the concerned
authorities to give this problem their immediate attention.

Yours sincerely
Kanwar

Subject: Mosquito Menace due to Stagnant Water

Sir
Through the medium of your esteemed newspaper, I wish to draw the attention of
the concerned authorities towards the mosquito menace due to stagnant water in
our locality.

It is most unfortunate that despite the level of awareness created by the media and
the municipal department itself not much has been done to improve the potholes in
the roads of our locality. They have not been repaired and this leads to water
stagnation at various places during the monsoon season which, in turn, provides an
ideal breeding place for mosquitoes. Despite our repeated complaints to the
municipal authorities, nothing has been done to improve the pathetic condition of
the roads. These mosquitoes lead to the spread of a variety of deadly diseases like
dengue, malaria etc. The authorities need to look into this matter urgently by
making arrangements to pump out the stagnant water or by spraying repellents or
kerosene oil to check the breeding of this disease-causing mosquitoes.

Since the only permanent solution to this problem is repairing the road, I would be
grateful if the concerned authorities pay heed to our problem and necessary action
on this is taken at the earliest.

Yours sincerely
Raman
