PROJECT GUIDELINES

1. The students shall have an option to carry out the project either within campus or in
industry/autonomous institutes/reputed organizations.
2. Project work shall be carried out by not more than four students in a batch.
3. Each batch will be allotted with a guide depending upon the area of project and students
should submit the Form 1(enrolment form) signed by their respective guides.
4. Form 2 (Declaration form) should be submitted by the student before the first review.
Students will not be allowed for project reviews if they are not submitting the declaration
form.
5. Project Diaries should be updated every week and Form 3 (Progress Sheet),
appropriately signed by the Guide and HoD. Last minute approval will not be
entertained. Students will not be allowed for project reviews if their project diaries and
Form 3 are incomplete.
6. Form 4 (Certificate of Fitness) should be submitted before the final review, appropriately
signed by the Guide and HoD.
7. Format for the project report is given in Annexure I.
8. Hard copy of presentation must be submitted 2 days before the reviews and guide
should acknowledge it.
9. Soft copy of presentation must be sent to email id b.sureshbabu@kathir.ac.in.
10. Students are requested to ensure that their guides are present with the respective
batches during the department level project reviews.
11. Final report should be checked for plagiarism; acceptable similarity index is 35% and
single source similarity is 8%.
12. It is mandatory for all the batches to publish a paper in a Scopus journal or to publish
patent, for their project work.
