CIRCULAR
KARE/CSE/2023-24/Project/ODD/01 17.07.2023
The Capstone Project (10 Credits) for the final year will be carried out in 2 phases namely Phase I
and II. All the final year students are asked to read the guidelines carefully and finalize their
supervisor and title of the project on or before 22.07.2023.
Phase I (2 Credits):
• This phase will be conducted in the odd semester.
• The students should identify the supervisor and finalize the project title.
• The students should do a proper literature survey and identify the problems.
Phase II (8 Credits):
• This phase will be conducted in the even semester.
• The students should implement the project by satisfying the University Mandates.
• The work should be Published in SCI/Scopus indexed Journal/ Conferences or File/ Publish
Patents on the Project selected.

Project Guidelines (Phase I):


• Every team can have a maximum of 4 members (for internal projects).
• Individual projects (1 member) are allowed only for external project students.
• 3 Internal progress reviews will be conducted followed by an external review per semester.
• Project review permission form must be submitted before attending the reviews.
• Being absent for reviews is to be avoided as it will be marked as 0.
• Individual role in project development will be verified in every review.
• Improvement in the progress of project development will be verified in every review.
• The project report should be followed as per the format provided. Plagiarism for project
reports should be checked in urkund software through your project guide only.
• For Every Internal review, 50% marks are to be awarded by the Project guide. Project
guides must provide marks based on the student’s performance, progress, and response in
pursuing their project work.
• Students are permitted to do interdisciplinary projects with other stream students (permitted
only based on project requirements).
Rubrics for the final project evaluations has major focus on deliverable outcomes
and is depicted as follows:

The project guides are requested to ensure quality student projects with deliverable outcomes.

INSTRUCTIONS TO STUDENTS AND GUIDES:


• A maximum of 4 students are allowed to form a project team.
• A list of faculty members along with their area of specialization is shared. Students are asked
to go through it and approach the faculty and get the willingness of the guide based on their
specialization.
• After getting their willingness, they must enter their name, reg.no and their guide’s name
section wise in the Google sheet shared below:

• One faculty member can guide a maximum of 3 project batches.
• Guide Consent form must be filled in and submitted to their respective faculty advisors.
• Every project batch must maintain a project diary.
• Students must approach their guide during their project hours and obtain their signature in the
project diary by updating the status of the project.
• Faculty Advisors will provide attendance to the students only if their project guide has signed
in the project diary.
• Individual students who are doing external projects can choose their faculty advisors as their
project guide.

PROJECT PHASE-I REVIEW CIRCULAR

Zeroth Review
The students are hereby informed to confirm their project title and present the abstract to their
respective guides. The guides are requested to conduct the zeroth review for your project batches and
confirm their title and abstract. It is planned to conduct the zeroth review from 24.07.2023 to
28.07.2023.
The students are hereby requested to be prepared with the following for their zeroth review:
1. Title of the project
2. Abstract

First Review
It is planned to conduct the First review from 21.08.2023 to 25.08.2023. Project panel member details
for conducting the first review will be released shortly. The students are hereby informed to prepare
a presentation for the following during their first review:
1. Title of the project
2. Objective
3. Literature Survey (Minimum 8 papers)
4. Existing System/ Issues in existing system
5. Proposed System
Note:
• Hardcopy of the presentation with guide sign is mandatory to attend the review.
• Students should come for review along with their project guide.
Second Review
It is planned to conduct the Second review from 09.10.2023 to 13.10.2023. Project panel member
details for conducting the first review will be released shortly. The students are hereby informed to
prepare a ppt presentation for the following during their second review:
1. Title of the project
2. Literature Survey (Minimum 8 papers)
3. Existing System/ Issues in existing system
4. Proposed System/ Advantages of Proposed System
5. Proposed System Design/ Diagram
6. Software Requirement Specification

7. Status of the Project


Note:
• Hardcopy of the ppt presentation with guide sign is mandatory to attend the review.
• Students should come for review along with their project guide.

Final Viva Voce (Phase – I)


It is planned to conduct the Final Viva Voce from 20.11.2023 to 22.11.2023 (tentative). Project report
format will be shared with the students. Therefore, the students must prepare their project report
according to the format that will be shared. Also, the students are hereby informed to prepare their
ppt presentation as per the following for their final viva:
1. Title of the project
2. Objective
3. Literature Survey (Minimum 8 papers)
4. Existing System/ Issues in existing system
5. Proposed System
6. Proposed System Design/ Diagram
7. Software Requirement Specification
8. Status of the Project
9. Consolidated Project Report duly approved by project guide.
