CONDUCT AND PROCESSING OF MINOR PROJECT REPORTS

BBA (G)/B.COM (H)

Objective

Students must indicate their area of interest to their faculty mentors, and they must try to use the
theoretical constructs studied in Project I to study a practical live problem encountered by a business
organization. The mentor must finalize the exact topic with the student and focus on strengthening the
skills of the student to collect reliable and valid data using appropriate sampling techniques. Students
must be trained to identify reliable sources of primary data and must learn to collect required and valid
data through accurate sampling techniques. Descriptive Data Analysis of Primary Data, using
Spreadsheets is an essential requirement for this Project. The project must include primary data
collection, collation, editing, and cleaning before data analysis. The students must be advised to refrain
from copying material without referencing and plagiarism must be treated as an offense. Plagiarized
reports must not be accepted.
The structure of the report must include:
 Project Objective and Introduction
 Review of literature and identification of research gap
 Proposed research design
 Details of statistical techniques used for the project
 Conclusions from data analysis
 Summary and synopsis of the work accomplished

The objective of this Academic Exercise/Circular is to lay clear guidelines for the conduct of the Minor
Project Report and standardize the format of submission of the Project Report.

University Scheme for Minor Project Report

1. Prior to the beginning of the End Semester Examination of the Second Semester, the
subjects on which each student shall be pursuing his / her Minor Project in relation to a
business firm and the respective internal supervisors shall be finalized by the concerned
Principal / Director of the Institute wherein BBA Programme is being run. The project can
be based on primary/ secondary data. After completion of the assigned Project a Project
Report in respect of the same shall be submitted to the concerned Director/Principal within
two weeks of the commencement of the Third Semester. The Minor Project shall carry 100
marks i.e., marks equivalent to one course and it shall be pursued by every student under
the supervision of one internal supervisor to be appointed by the Principal / Director of the
Institute from among the Faculty Members handling the various BBA courses. It shall be
evaluated jointly by the Internal Supervisor and the External Examiner. The Internal
Supervisor shall award marks out of 40 and the External Examiner shall award marks out of
60. The External Examiner shall be appointed by the University.

Scope of Minor Project Report – II


It is partly the responsibility of the student to prepare an report where he/she intends to develop
his/her skills. A Topic once fixed cannot be changed. It is necessary for each student to approve of
the Topic by the respective Project Coordinator of the class. Each student is required to carry
out the work independently and submit the report individually.

ANY PREVIOUS WORK OR BORROWED REPORT WILL BE SUMMARILY REJECTED


AND IN ALL SUCH CASES OF REJECTION THE WORK IS TO BE REPEATED AFRESH.

Final Report

The guidelines for a methodology to be adopted for preparing minor reports reports are
mentioned below and all students reports strictly adhere to these guidelines.

Students are required to strictly follow the schedule given below:

The Minor project Coordinators/ Faculty Guides and students allotted under each guide for
BBA (G)/B.COM (H) Semester-II and Semester-IV Students will be intimated at the start of the
semester.
MARKS DIVISION:
Internal Marks = 30+20=50
External Marks= 60

General Guidelines and Format of Minor Project Report

 The project should be approved by Project Supervisor before the final submission.

 The project should be Topic (Related to product or service) specific and based on secondary

data.

 It should be based on industry or an economy-oriented approach.

 The total No of papers should be 50 approx.

 The paper Sheet should be A4 Size and printed on one side of the paper.

 Navy Blue Color with Golden emboss of Hard Bound for BBA (G) and Black color with

Silver emboss for B.COM (H)


 Font style-Times New Roman

 Font Size(Text)-12

 Font Size (Sub-Heading)-12 (Caps on)

 Font Size (Main-Heading)-14 (Caps on)

 1.5 Spacing

 Alignment Title page (Centre), Heading (Centre), and subheading (Left)

 The body of the text should be justified.

 Margin- At the binding edge(left side) 2, at the right, bottom, and top 1 inch

 Page Numbering should start from chapter 1.

No viva will be conducted without submission and approval of the Minor report
