A new wave of Glory

Introduction

Pro 3:35  The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall
be the promotion of fools.
but shame shall be the promotion of fools; not fools
in a natural, but in a religious sense; such who know not
themselves, nor the way of salvation; who mock at sin,
and scoff at religion: these and everyone of these "shall
take" or "lift up shame"

What is Glory?
Defined as high renown or honour won by notable achievements

Glory definition is - praise, honor, or distinction extended by common

consent
We will simply look at glory from the perspective of what glory is
not for better understanding
So Glory is the opposite of shame, the opposite of all that can cause shame e.g.
disease, failure, bondage, sinful habits, poverty etc.
A wave on the other hand is like a hill, followed by a valley and followed by
another hill. The top of the hill is called the crest of the wave.
Therefore, a new wave of glory implies that there was a crest, followed by a valley
and then a new crest. i.e, a new hill top experience.
Example: on Mount carmel, Elijah experienced a high wave of glory 1kings 18:36-
39
1Ki 18:36  And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening
sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, LORD God of
Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in
Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at
thy word.
1Ki 18:37  Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou
art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.
1Ki 18:38  Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice,
and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that
was in the trench.
1Ki 18:39  And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they
said, The LORD, he is the God; the LORD, he is the God.

This was followed by the experience in the valley of Jezreel 1Kings 19:1-4

1Ki 19:1  And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and withal how he
had slain all the prophets with the sword.
1Ki 19:2  Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods
do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by
to morrow about this time.
1Ki 19:3  And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to
Beersheba, which belongeth to Judah, and left his servant there.
1Ki 19:4  But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came
and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he
might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am
not better than my fathers.

Then came another hill top experience in 1kings 21:17-29

1Ki 21:17  And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
1Ki 21:18  Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, which is in Samaria:
behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, whither he is gone down to possess
it.
1Ki 21:19  And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the LORD,
Hast thou killed, and also taken possession? And thou shalt speak unto him,
saying, Thus saith the LORD, In the place where dogs licked the blood of
Naboth shall dogs lick thy blood, even thine.
If you are in a valley now, God will move you to a hill top as we study in Jesus
name. Amen

!st wave of Glory

THe bible is full of people who had a 1 st wave of Glory and experienced a second wave.

A lot happened that night, God had killed the firstborns of the Israelites. The Egyptians were horrified at the
deaths of their sons and urged the Israelites to leave hastily before any more people died. Here,

The Widow's Gift of

Everything
Imagine what it was like for her, just her and her little boy. Her husband had
died, and together, mother and son were starving to death.

They were victims of a widespread famine, and there was no place to go and
nothing to do about their plight. She had faced the reality of their coming
demise. She would take her little pot of flour and the little bit of oil she had left,
gather some sticks, make a little cake, eat this final meal with her son and lay
down to die.
What would you be thinking if it were you? What would you be thinking about
God? What would you say to your son? And how would you respond if
someone you didn't know came and asked you to give them the ingredients
for your last meal on earth?

2 Kings 4:8-37 – Elisha and the Shunammite Woman

Analysis
In return for all that a wealthy woman from Shunem has done for him, Elisha offers
to assist her with the king. When she refuses, Gehazi, Elisha's servant, suggests that
the childless woman might appreciate the promise of a son. Despite her protests, for
fear of false hopes, the woman conceived and bore a son, as Elisha had promised.
Miracle one.

Consider Job’s wealth:

 He had seven sons and three daughters.

 He had 7,000 sheep, 3,000 camels, 500 yoke of oxen, 500 female
donkeys, and many servants.

 It seems that each son had a house and held a feast each day on a
revolving schedule.
 Job 29:12-17 tells us:

 Because I delivered the poor who cried for help, and the orphan who had no helper. The
blessing of the one ready to perish came upon me, and I made the widow’s heart sing for
joy. I put on righteousness, and it clothed me; my justice was like a robe and a turban. I
was eyes to the blind, and feet to the lame. I was a father to the needy, and I investigated
the case which I did not know. And I broke the jaws of the wicked, and snatched the prey
from his teeth.

When the Lord acknowledged peter, it was glorious

Mat 16:18  And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock
I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Job remained wealthy despite his extreme generosity. Even after he was virtually
wiped out, God granted him even greater wealth than before – two-fold. Job 42:12-
13 says,

And the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning, and he had
14,000 sheep, and 6,000 camels, and 1,000 yoke of oxen, and 1,000 female
donkeys. And he had seven sons and three daughters.
