Introduction:- Good Morning everyone, I am Aarya Vyas and I am Ananya Tiwary.

today we are going to present the Life Journey of Sir Srinivas Ramanujan.

Sir Srinivas Ramanujan was one of India's greatest mathematicians. He made substantial
contributions to the analytical theory of numbers and worked on elliptic functions, continued
fractions, and infinite series.

(EARLY LIFE)
The Maths genius Ramanujan was born on 22 December 1887 in his grandmother's house in
Erode, a small village about 400 km southwest of Madras (now Chennai). When he was a
year old his mother took him to the town of Kumbakonam, about 160 km near Madras. His
father worked in Kumbakonam as a clerk in a cloth merchant's shop. He married Janaki
Ammal on March 21, 1899. Although when he got married he was only 12 years old and his
wife Janki was just 10.

(EDUCATION)
When he was nearly five years old, Sir Ramanujan entered primary school in Kumbakonam.
Moreover, he had attended several different primary schools before his entry took place to the
Town High School in Kumbakonam in January 1898. In 1900, he became involved with
mathematics and began summing geometric and arithmetic series on his own.

(ACHIEVEMENTS)
The self-taught genius Ramanujan was awarded a Bachelor of Science by Research degree in
1916 (later named Ph.D.) by Cambridge even though he was not an undergraduate. In 1918,
he became one of the youngest Fellows of the Royal Society and only the second Indian
member. The same year he was elected a Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge, the first
Indian to be so honored. During his short lifespan of 32 years, he independently compiled
around 3,900 results.

(CONTRIBUTIONS)
He provided solutions to mathematical problems that were then considered unsolvable.
Moreover, some of his work was so ahead of his time that mathematicians are still
understanding its relevance. In 1914, Sir Ramanujan found a formula for computing π (pi)
that is currently the basis for the fastest algorithms used to calculate π. The circle method,
which he developed with G. H. Hardy, constitutes a large area of current mathematical
research. Moreover, he discovered K3 surfaces which play key roles today in string theory
and quantum physics; while his mock modular forms are being used to unlock the secret of
black holes. Something interesting that most of you might not be aware of is that there was a
movie named “The Man Who Knew Infinity” dedicated to him based on his work in the area
of mathematics. He defined a mathematical series, which has come to be known as the
Ramanujan Summation. It states that if you add all the natural numbers, that is 1, 2, 3, 4, and
so on, all the way to infinity, you will find that it is equal to -1/12.

Sir Ramanujan died at the young age of 32 reportedly He was diagnosed with tuberculosis
and a severe vitamin deficiency. There is a dedicated museum situated in Chennai, in the
glorious memory of Sir Srinivas Ramanujan.
National Mathematics Day is celebrated in memory of Srinivas Ramanujan’s birth
anniversary which is on 22nd December. There are Many more Great Mathematician

Now we would like to conclude with a quote by Sir Ramanujan – “An equation means
