I. Learning Outcomes

At the end of the lesson, the student should be able to;

 Describe characteristics of an argumentative essay using their understanding,

 Explain its elements of argumentative essay base on the discussion and to;

 Appreciate the use of argumentative essay in expressing their own perspectives

 Chalk and Black markers and eraser
 Laptop

III. Learning Experience


A. Explore
 The Teacher will prepare an Icebreaker for the students that will relates
to the lesson.
B. Engage
 The Teacher will start to review the lesson yesterday and to indorse
another lesson, which is argumentative essay. The Teacher will then
present the topic and ask questions concerning the topic.
 Inform the student beforehand to listen for their will be an assessment
they will be doing.
C. Experience
 After the lesson, the students are required to answer the following question
individually.
Directions: Answer the questions with the corresponding answer. Write the
answer before the number.
1. What is the first paragraph of an essay called?
2. What is located in the first paragraph of an essay?
3. What is the thesis of an essay?
4. What is the last paragraph of an essay called?
5. What is the middle paragraph of an essay called?

IV. Assessment of the Learning


 The Teacher will assign an activity by group; the group is composed of four
students. The teacher will then give the topic and the topic will be “will be about
the Philippines legalizing same sex marriage.” After that, you are going to make
at least 4 paragraph of an argumentative essay about it.”

 Organization of ideas -30%
 Content- 40%
 Clarity-20%
 Grammar, usage and writing- 10%
