DAY 1

Charge
Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed
his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through
him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning
sacrifice for our sins.
https://www.bible.com/bible/111/1JN.4.8-10.NIV

God’s love is greater than anything we can imagine. He does more than just love us, He is
love itself. Relationships end, friends fail, and even our own family members fail us at times.
Human love is unstable and changing, even the strongest human love is tested in life’s trials.
But God’s love is perfect, steadfast, and unchanging, and in His love, we can have strength as
we face the challenges of the world as well as hope for eternity.

Subtopic: God’s Love is Unconditional.

Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will
not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the LORD, who has compassion
on you.
https://www.bible.com/bible/111/ISA.54.10.NIV
Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might
possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still
sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more
shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! For if, while we were God’s enemies, we
were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been
reconciled, shall we be saved through his life
Romans 5:7-10
God’s love is steadfast and unchanging. Though we may grow distant from Him or change in
our attitude toward Him, He continues to love us. He is always there for us, to welcome us
into his hand once we call on him.
Most times we sin and feel so shameful of ourselves on returning back to God. We feel so
dirty and unworthy of his presence that we keep on blaming ourselves. But he is telling us
that his hands are open to welcome us back to him. That his Love is steadfast and never
changes. This is why Jesus Christ died on the Cross for us, he has paid for our sins, and we
are justified by his blood. We have been saved and reconciled back to God through the death
of his son Jesus Christ.
In the story of King David in 1 Samuel 11 and 12, King David committed adultery with a
woman named Bathsheba who consequently became pregnant. Upon learning of Bathsheba’s
condition, David tried to cover his sin and eventually arranged for Bathsheba’s husband,
Uriah, to be killed in battle.
King David committed adultery which is a very shameful sin, but on realising that he has
sinned against God, he seeks for God’s forgiveness, God forgave him and gave him and
Bathsheba a son, the Great Solomon.
Therefore we shouldn’t be held back by our sins because though the mountains be shaken and
the hills be removed, his unfailing love for us will never be shaken nor his covenant of peace
be removed. God’s love is eternal. His Constant love however should not be a licence to
continue to live in Sin. We no more have that nature & should not cultivate it in our lives.
The seed of God is in us. We should allow it to grow & blossom in our lives. Hallelujah!
Prayer
Oh lord, I have sinned and doubted your unfailing love for me, forgive and have mercy upon
me. Help me to always remember your unfailing love towards me. Amen.

28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my

But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.
2 Thessalonian 3:3
*We are living in a very perilous time where we require God’s protection to navigate through
the dangers of the world.*

*God’s love is an assurance to us that he will protect us from harm. When we embrace the
love of God in our life, and live righteously by walking in the ways of the Lord, God’s
protection from harm is a reassuring promise in the face of the dangers we encounter.*

*As believers, we are not exempted from storms happening around us. But because, we have
been saved and reconciled back to God through the death of his son Jesus Christ. The lord
will provide incredible strength and comfort in every battle we face in this life.*

*The storms will never have full reign, for right in the midst, He will remind us that we are
held secure by a Mighty God. We may feel some wind, may hear the loud thunder and see
darkness or rain all around. But His covering of protection and love surrounds us.*

*As Parents, when we see our children in trouble, do we leave them? No, we try our possible
means to save them from it. So, imagine our heavenly father seeing us facing the storms of
life, do you think that He will keep silent and allow us to wallow in it? He said in Mark 11:
28 come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. God’s love
of protection is always available to us, but we shouldn't continue dwelling in sin but commit
ourselves to the righteous will of God and through our faith, worship, and prayer we are
protected from evil forces both external and internal. Hallelujah!*

PRAYER
*Heavenly father, you know that we are set in the midst of so many and great dangers, that by
reason of the frailty of our nature we cannot always stand upright, Grant us such strength and
protection, to support us in all danger, and carry us through all temptations; through your
Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.*

Subtopic: God’s love is Sacrificial
*One of the things that God’s love did is to change our position as sinners forever. Because
of the sacrifice of Jesus, we are free from sin & its consequences. We have been made the
righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.*

*To live righteously, means that we wholeheartedly realise that sin does not
please God. Because of this, we pursue holiness instead of sinfulness in our
thoughts, words, and actions.*

* We conduct our life upright with moral standards that reflect our
relationship with the lord. As representative to the kingdom of God in all
that we do, we should mirror his ways.*
*We submit even our thought life to what is righteous and desire God to transform
our minds and conform us to the image of his son.*
*Also our words are submitted to Christ’s lordship. We no longer speak carelessly,
realising that our words have power to reflect Christ well or poorly. Our words should
demonstrate the power of God’s grace, and not let any unwholesome talk come out
of out mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their
needs.*
*Being made righteous, the Holy Spirit within us is revealed , showing evidence of the
work God is doing in their lives. We no longer live for selfish pleasures, but we desire
to live for the things of God.We spend time in God’s Word and pursue the character
of Christ. We want our actions and our entire lives to be moulded by Christ alone.*

Prayers
*Oh Lord, I submit my life unto you, uphold me by your right hand of righteousness that i
will always yield and be an instrument of righteousness unto God’s glory.* Amen.

Subtopic: God’s love brings Eternal life
*Eternal life is God’s life, divine life, a different kind and quality from human life. It is more
than eternal existence; it is to share in the unending life of God Himself.*
*The resurrection of Jesus Christ is a powerful reminder that death has been defeated, and
that God's love is eternal. It is a sign of hope for all who believe in Jesus Christ, and it is a
testimony of God's power and love. Through Jesus' resurrection, we have the assurance of
eternal life, and we can live with the hope and joy that comes from knowing Him.*
Our personal relationships with God is what gives us access to enjoy this eternal life,This
breaks us free from the bondage of sins,we are longer held by the law, but we enjoy a new
life now in Christ Jesus.Having received Jesus Christ, we have Eternal life.we are now God’s
heir and enjoy all things.
Prayers
Lord, I believe in Christ as my saviour,I have placed my total trust in Him and received Him
as my only hope of eternal life in Jesus name. Amen.

Subtopic: God’s Love brings Provision

*God love has given us provision to all our needs, His Word is packed full of
promises that we can cling to no matter what our circumstances may be.He
takes care of our physical needs,he gives us grace, provides our supernatural
needs,He provides us direction, by guiding and directing our steps so that we
can fulfil his divine purpose for us.God provides us with the ability to have
peace in any situation. He guards our hearts and minds and leads us into
paths of righteousness. He gives us confidence when we’re uncertain and
satisfies our longing souls.

*God has provided everything pertaining to life and godliness but most times we don't
experience it because of hindrances in our lives. To experience God ‘s provision , we must
remove any hindrances and look beyond the gifts to the Giver. There are so many things that
hinder us from receiving God’s provision : Doubting the word of God, feeling of Guilt : You
can’t receive what God want to give you when you are hiding from him.The only way to
experience his abundant provisions is to confess all your sin, knowing that he is faithful and
righteous to forgive 1 John 1:9..Depression is another hindrance from receiving from God,It
prevents us from dwelling on what God’s words says concerning our situation and we thinks
that God has forgotten us.*
To experience God’s provision , we must look unto the evidence of his faithfulness. Perhaps
we are doubting God , circumstances might have overwhelmed us but we should believe what
His Word says that He has provided all our needs and he is forever faithful and will never
fail.

Prayer
Our Father, we bow before You in worship and gladly acknowledge that every good
gift comes from Your loving hand. We thank You today for the beauty of the earth,
for the love of friends and family, for our food, for our homes, for our work, and most
of all for the gift of Your Son.

We confess our impatience, and we ask Your forgiveness. Help us to rejoice in what
You have given, rather than complain about what You have withheld.

AMEN

In the Bible, God’s rest is referred to as a promised land which He has long promised
His people
We, as Christians, are also able to experience God’s rest in the present – right here
and right now.
The Greek word ‘anapausis’, translated as ‘rest’ in Hebrews 4, refers to actively
calming one’s soul. It speaks of serenity, peace, and tranquillity. A sense of order is
evident. Thus, it is reasonable to conclude that God’s rest is equivalent to God’s
peace.
God’s rest is a state, or place, where God rules and manages his creation, free from
the chaos and disorder brought about by sin and rebellion. All who will rest from their
own work of bringing their own life under control can enter into God’s rest. The
promise holds true for you and me. The rest of God is available to us.

Unbelief is what keeps us from God’s rest.

Dear friends, we live in a distracted, fractured, turbulent world, a world I

think that's desperate for rest. Ecclesiastes chapter 2:22-23 says, "what

does a man gain for all the toil and anxious striving with which he labors

under the sun. All his days, his work, his pain and grief even at night. His

mind does not rest. This too, is meaningless." Over 172 million

Americans suffer from sleep disorders, insomnia, in some sense or

another. Since 9/11, the sale of sleeping pills has increased by 25%.
People are disturbed. People are restless, like the churning waves of the

sea, unable to sleep because of their labors and their anxieties.

Struggling with fears about the future.

What will happen tomorrow? What if my husband dies? What if the stock

market crashes. What if I lose my job? Even worse are the restless

anxieties that go really to the center of our souls, people's guilty

consciences tormenting them with their sins because they don't know

Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

The only way to enter into God’s Rest is by faith and we know we have true

saving faith by the fruit of obedience.

When Will I Enter God’s Rest?

If we are talking about God’s eternal rest, then obviously it will not be until we
either die or are raptured into heaven. That day is in the future, however, as we
learned there is another way of speaking of God’s rest—enjoying the
forgiveness of our sins. This rest you can enjoy right now! In fact, if you have
any hope of ever enjoying God’s eternal rest you must first enjoy in this life
the rest and peace with God that comes through faith in Jesus Christ.
Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or
do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless
indeed you fail to meet the test!

So let us be active, not stagnate in our faith.

Hebrews 3:15 ESV

As it is said,

“Today, if you hear his voice,

do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”

Let us pray.

Lord add your blessing to the Word which we have heard Today. By your Spirit
unite our hearing with faith so that we might benefit from it and enjoy your
Rest. Amen.

Joshua 1:13

Subtopic: God’s love brings Rest
*Rest is defined as peace. When we embrace the love of God in our life, we enjoy a life full
of rest. In Matthew 11; 28-29, God promises us a life full of refreshment and rest, simply by
joining our life with His. He will be our confidence in times of crisis and keep our heart at
rest in every situation.*
*Anyone who enters into God’s Rest, also rests from their works.*
*What is God’s Rest and how do we enter into it? *
*God’s rest is a state, or place, where God rules and manages his creation (us), free from the
chaos and disorder brought about by sin. After creation,God established a garden in Eden, he
put a caretaker, Adam. This garden represents God’s rest. And humanity, at the beginning,
was at rest with God. In this rest, there was no sorrow, no lack, and no struggles, there was
abundant provision, and man lived a life free from oppression.*
*But Adam rebelled against God and was cast from the garden. His rest was over and
Mankind started enjoying sufferings and struggles. God’s Rest was replaced with a world that
will require much effort to survive. A world of disorder and unhappiness.*
*But God through his love for us, sent Jesus Christ who died on the cross of Calvary, wiped
away our sin, by erasing the sins of Adam from us and reconciled us back to God’s original
intent for us which is enjoying eternal rest.*
*All we need to enter into this rest, is only to accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, live a life
full of Righteousness by walking in his ways and have faith in him. We will see ourselves
enjoying and living a victorious life free of struggles and sorrow.*

Prayer
*Lord, I have accepted to walk in your ways, help and strengthen me to abide in your words,
so I can enjoy your eternal rest. AMEN.*
