PANCHI

SYNOPSIS
The theme for my final proposal is "PANCHI", which the panchi pertains to in this is the bird's
title "BARN SWALLOW". It's most popular in Europe, North America, Africa, and Asia. The
merging of traditional but also fashionable attire is depicted in this by exploring the old period
of 1910-1920 when there was quite a trend of long coats but also Edwardian hats. Bird
sculptures and embellishments were popular on Edwardian hats during the period. People did
wear overcoats because they were fashionable. The barn swallow has a long tail and is steely
blue (dark blueish-grey) with a rich orangish neck and forehead. I studied the color scheme and
chose to create a piece by combining the color palette of its barn swallow with the color
palettes of the continents listed above. Barn swallow was my attraction for the fashion utilized
during the old foreign era because it is even now utilized and praised by women in this modern
world in a variety of ways.

Trench coats, Edwardian hats for sampling, and Barn swallow sculptures are what I work on for
this venture. The textile sculpture of the birds included claws, beaks, and feathers, among other
details. I did draw various motifs after studying the complete framework of the above bird. I
create storyboards using barn swallow study pictures. Then I managed to draw various
drawings of the birds. Following such sketches, I created six complete bird frameworks by
interlacing them.
PRODUCT DETAILS
There are total of six sculptures which are based on the body parts of the barn swallow such as
Feathers, claws, beak, etc. In these sculptures I did give it a fascinating look through
embellishment and embroidery. Fusing materials are used in sculptures. My primary product is
the trench coat, which I designed digitally and afterward finished with embroidery. The trench
coat is for both male and female, and can be worn in all seasons. The material used for the
trench coats is corduroy fabric. As the trench coat was influenced by the barn swallow, I tried to
give it a puffy glance with feathers and afterwards fused with embellishments. There were the
samplings of Edwardian hats, as I renewed it to give it a proper look like a product. There are 2
samples for male hats and 5 samples for female hats.
