UMPT
SWAP PROCEDURE
1. Modify the configuration to work as UMPT for this board. See “FROM WMPT TO
UMPT (like for like). For NO Co-TX site” and “Co-Transmission Scenario with
GTMUb. FROM WMPT (Co-Tx thru Front Panel using Optical Ports) TO UMPT (Co-
Tx thru Back Panel)” points described below.
2. Export the modified configuration file
3. Format a USB key, in FAT32 file system mode. This step is to make sure there is no
other file or folder in the USB key which may impact the USB commission.
4. If the software version in UMPT is V200R014C00SPC310(our FOA target version), skip
this step. Otherwise copy the software packet to USB key. The file pathname must be
usb:\NodeB\Software\Software.csp
5. Copy the configuration file to USB, the file pathname must be usb:\NodeB\
Configuration\NodeBCfg.xml
6. Use the USB protection tool to encrypt configuration file
1. Modify the configuration to work as UMPT for this board. See “FROM WMPT TO

2. Export the modified configuration file.
3. Power off the NodeB, insert UMPT, then power on.
4. After the board is stable, you can see the RUN LED blinks slowly (ON for 1s and
OFF for 1s)
5. Connect laptop with “Special Cable” ETH - USB3.0 to USB port in UMPT board
6. Open LMT, version R14, and download configuration file from LMT.
7. After NodeB reset, check if we can ping the IP configured on ETH port 0, if
success, it means the configuration file is ok.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Logging to UMPT via LMT:
IP : 17.21.2.15
User: admin
Password: NodeB or hwbs@com

FE/GE1 (optical SFP connector A 100 Mbit/s or 1000 Mbit/s adaptive Ethernet
port) optical port is used for transmitting service data
and signaling messages.
USB(1)(2) USB connector The USB port with the USB silkscreen is used for
the software upgrade of a base station using a
Universal Serial Bus (USB) flash drive. This port
also functions as a commissioning Ethernet port
with USB3.0 cable.
The USB port with the CLK silkscreen is used for
multiplexing TOD and test clock.
E1/T1 DB26 female The port is used for four E1/T1 signal inputs and
connector outputs between the UMPT and the universal
E1/T1 lightning protection unit (UELP) or between
the UMPT and the base station controller.
GPS SMA connector The port is used for transmitting radio frequency
(RF) signals received from the antenna to the
satellite receiver.
