The human resource department within an organization plays a vital role in employees'

career development. Career development helps employees achieve their personal goals and

improve their performance within an organization. Career development involves the human

resource department implanting strategies and goals to ensure that personal and organizational

needs are met. Career management helps employees have skills and experience essential to job

requirements. Every employee within an organization must recognize and know their

responsibilities and the career path they ought to follow.

Career development is essential as it helps improve job performance, exposure of

employees, and facilitate changing of job in the future. Proper planning and implementation of

career development strategies help improve performance as employees have acquired new skills

and knowledge useful for the tasks performed within an organization. The benefits of career

development are numerous to both an organization and as a person. Through career

development, cultural diversity is enhanced as different kinds of people can be employed. In

addition, it helps ensure that employer has different access to people whose race, religion, age,

and nationality varies.

Career development is essential in my career as it helps me explore talents that might be

hidden within myself. Career development helps ensure that employees are given tasks that they

can conveniently handle based on their skills and abilities, thus helping in reducing frustration in

the workplace. Employees will prefer a workplace that offers different challenges and more

opportunities based on their skills and abilities. Suppose that workplace cares for the well-being

of its employees through planning and implanting strategies for career development. In that case,

employees will work towards the set goals and objectives, thus improving the goodwill and

image of the organization.
