ARGUS Developer – Unit Sales Definitions

Units Sales
The Definition tab includes the unit sales functionality in Developer. Unit Sales is used to enter
and define units that are developed and sold off. Developer accommodates an unlimited number
of units, each with specific costs and revenues to any level of detail we desire.

• Unit Sales: This is the most used area type. This area provides the most flexibility within the
program for unit sales and tends to be the easiest to use for most projects.

• Single Unit Sales: Used in larger land and single family (SF) home deals where construction and
sale of the units are phased over the construction period. The major difference is that within the
Single Unit Sales section we can create a general construction schedule for each individual unit, as
opposed to a general schedule for the entire project.

• Multi Unit Sales: Used in deals where multiple deposits are taken as progress payments. An
example would be a SF home deal where each buyer needs to pay 10% at the signing of contract,
15% at construction start, 15% at construction completion, and 60% at closing. This tends to be
more popular in foreign markets, because for most domestic deals, banks require deposits to go
into escrow, where they cannot be used towards construction until the unit closes.
