Chapter 3 Functions and Parameters

1. Brief introduction of functions

Fire alarm
BC8002 will alarm, when the fire is sensed by detectors connected with the system; when the manual
call point is activated or when the equipment connected with the input module issues a corresponding
action. When fire alarm, the “Fire Alarm” light will be on, system will issue an alarm and the display
screen will automatically switch to the fire alarm window to display the fire alarm information. You can
operate menu by keyboard on panel. For detailed information, please refer to chapters 4 and 5.

Fault alarm
To ensure reliability of the fire alarms, the control unit will check all field devices and detection bus when
the system runs normally. When fault happens, the “Fault Alarm” light will be on, system will issue a
sound and the display screen will automatically switch to the fault window to display the relevant fault
information. You can operate menu by keyboard on panel. For detailed information, please refer to
chapters 4 and 5.

Fire alarm priority

The system has the fire alarm priority function. That is, when the system is at fault status, fire alarm
happens and the system will automatically change from fault alarm to fire alarm. After the fire alarm is
removed, it will automatically switch back to the previous fault status.

When there is a certain fault in the system and it is not recovered, it will affect the fire alarm priority
function. In the application, the following attention should be paid:
Fire alarm can not be made normally in places where detector is damaged
Bus is faulty. (such as bus is open or short)
 Power supply fault

Real time clock

Real time clock contains year, month, day, hour, minute and second. When system is at fire alarm, fault
or close status, real time clock chip can still count time. Real time clock may also be preset and calibrated
through operating the menu “Set time”. (This function can be operated by Level 2 and 3 user levels).

Automatic printing (Optional)

When fire alarm or fault or interlocking event occurs, printer will automatically print event’s name, text
and year, month, day, hour, minute and second.

System event statistics

This function is to check controller’s hardware and field devices. The check results, including the total
numbers of fault, fire alarm, interlocking and confirmation events and isolated devices are displayed at
the bottom of screen.

Siemens Building Technologies 5/40

Operating Manual of BC8002 Advanced Control Unit

Isolation and opening of devices

In the process of system operation, if a field device has been damaged, it should be isolated before it is
replaced. After the replacement, it should be opened again.
When there are isolated devices in the system, the “Isolation” light on the panel will be on.

Display isolated devices

If a device is faulty in system, it should be isolated to ensure the normal running of the whole system.
The isolated device can be displayed so that a new device can be timely replaced. Through operating the
corresponding function key, the controller can display all the isolated devices.

Display analog curve of devices

Controller can display the analog curve of filed devices so as to allow users to check changes of fire
parameters of each detection point.

Query device property

After a device for query is selected, all the information about the device will be displayed on the screen,
including address, type, current status etc.

Query history events

Controller can automatically record all events, including fire alarm, fault, activation, confirmation,
isolation and so on. It can record maximum 1,000 events.

Chapter 6 Interlocking Control Panel

1. Introduction

BT8011/BT8012 interlocking control panels are used for automatic/manual control of important
equipment (such as pump and fan).
There are two kinds control signals can be chosen: Pulse and Level.
BT8011/BT8012 communicates with the controller through B-BUS. OC output controls external
equipment through relays.
All “activation”, “fault” and “confirmation” signals are displayed on the panel and there are
corresponding sounds prompt for them.
The functions of “test” and “silence” are available.
When the “Manual” light is on, it indicates manual operation is allowed. At this time, on-site
equipment can be activated/stopped by keyboard.
When the “Automatic” light is on, it indicates automatic operation is allowed. At this time, the
controller is allowed to automatically interlock and control on-site equipment.
 3U panel structure.
The first five digits of the Dip-switch define the address of the current interlocking panel. The sixth
digit is used to define whether the interlocking panel communicates with the controller through
B-Bus. The seventh and eighth digits define the output mode of the interlocking panel. Detailed
information is given in the table below:

Name Status Function

1-5 - Set B-Bus address
