Questions
 What have you learn about floating an egg?
I had learned that saltwater is denser than that of a tap water because of its salt
content or salinity. The egg will float in the saltwater since when the salt was added to the
water its density becomes greater than that of the egg. The egg sunk in the tap water due to
the fact that the egg has a greater density than the water.
 What is the application of the simple experiment in your daily living?
Density is the main cause of this phenomenon, I can apply my findings in order to know
the age of an egg. We already know that density is the main cause of this, we can apply it in
doing the “Float test”. In a bowl of water we may put the egg in the water if it sinks it’s still
fresh and if it floats or stands on its end we know that it’s older (fresh eggs is denser than the
water while older eggs is less dense than the water).
