Hydraulic Clutch System Bleeding - SUPPLEMENTAL MANUAL


TRANSMISSION AUTO SHIFT (PA0)

Warning: Refer to Safety Glasses Warning .

Warning: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Warning .

Warning : DOT 4 / DOT 4+ Brake Fluid Warning

Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Caution .

Use an Opel/Vauxhall recommended DOT 4 brake fluid. Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations

  1. Connect the diagnostic tool to the diagnostic socket.


  2. Place a collecting container under the clutch master cylinder reservoir.
  3. Fill the clutch master cylinder reservoir with NEW hydraulic fluid.
Note: Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the pressure bleeding equipment.
  4. Install the pressure bleeding equipment (commercially available) to the clutch master cylinder
reservoir.
Note: Maximum pressure in hydraulic clutch system is 29 psi (200 kPa).
  5. Pressurize the hydraulic clutch system to 22-29 psi (152-200 kPa).
  6. Connect a clear hose and a container to the clutch actuator cylinder bleed valve.
  7. Bleed the hydraulic clutch system.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution .
Note: Counterhold the body of the bleed valve when opening for the first time to prevent
damage.
7.1. Open the bleed valve to release the trapped air from the hydraulic clutch system. Allow fluid to
flow until air bubbles stop flowing from the bleed valve, then close the bleed valve.
7.2. Empty the container, if necessary
  8. With the aid of a technician, bleed the hydraulic clutch system using the diagnostic tool.
Note: The menu guide is dependant on the component replaced.
  9. Follow the menu guide in the diagnostic tool to the end of the program.
10. Turn OFF the diagnostic tool and remove from the vehicle.
