2 Composition/information on ingredients
· Substance/Preparation: Preparation.
· Components (CAS No. and EINECS No.):
Zeolite (crystalline aluminosilicate) (CAS-No. 1318-02-1; EINECS-No. 215-283-8).
Quartz (CAS-No. 14808-60-7; EINECS-No. 238-878-4).
· Chemical characterization
· Description: Crystalline aluminosilicate with binders.
· Dangerous components: Void
* 3 Hazards identification
· Hazard description: Not applicable.
· Information concerning particular hazards for human and environment: Not applicable.
· Classification system:
The classification is according to the latest editions of the EU-lists, and extended by company and
literature data.
· Additional information:
The product is very adsorbent and may have a drying effect on skin and eyes.
W hen exceeding the OEL (Occupational Exposure Limit) a mechanical overburdening of the
respiratory system is possible.
In contact with water heat development and therefore burning of the skin and mucous membrane is
possible.
This product contains less than 1 % quartz which is part of a natural raw material.
At present, EU Regulations do not require safety labeling of products containing quartz.
However, quartz has been recently classified by IARC (International Agency for Research on Cancer)
as carcinogenic to humans by inhalation (Group I). Furthermore, quartz can cause silicosis and other
lung diseases on prolonged exposure.
It is not expected that the operator will be exposed to free respirable quartz particles in excess of the
limits allowed by the worker protection regulations. Nevertheless, the user is responsible for controlling
the working environment according to local regulations, e.g. in the UK: COSHH Regulations.

· Protection of hands:
Protective gloves.
Wear gloves for the protection against mechanical hazards according to EN 388.
Use gloves of stable material (e.g. Nitrile) - if necessary tricoted to improve the wearability.
Preventive skin protection by use of skin-protecting agents is recommended.
After use of gloves apply skin-cleaning agents and skin cosmetics.
· Material of gloves
EN 388: Minimum requirements for efficiency level 1 for all groups.
The selection of the suitable gloves does not only depend on the material, but also on further marks of
quality and varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.
