3.0 Description
3.1 Type Exit-Gate
The electrical exit system exists of a Series 4000 Auto Gate system.

The exit system is normally closed.

The opening of the exit system in exit direction follows by an external opening signal (e.g. from
a Pay-Tower etc.)The exit system closes after a preadjusted hold open time which will be started
again if necessary by a light barrier when passing the exit system.

With the Exit-Gate the swivel arms are normally closed.

The opening impulse will be triggered by an external signal.

The closing impulse will be triggered by a light barrier in the standing column or after the door
hold open time is over

5.0 Function
5.1 Operation without Radar
The swivel arms will be opened synchronically by an external open signal (e.g. from a pay tower).
After passing the light barriers in the standing column and the expiration of the hold-open time
the swivel arms will be closed again.

Does after passing the light barrier another person (e.g. a child) interrupts the light barrier, the

hold-open time will be started again. Does another person pass the light barrier during the swivel arms already
start closing, the

swivel arms will open again and will close after the expiration of hold-open time. Will the light barriers after an
external open signal not be passed, the swivel arms will stay open
for an also adjusted waiting time (independent on the hold-open time) and close after that
waiting time.

5.2 Operation with Radar

An external signal (e.g. from a pay tower) sends an opening signal to the exit gate.
The swivel arms are staying closed; the preadjusted waiting time starts to run out.

Does the radar recognize a movement in the sensor range of the radar and if the waiting time
is not over, the swivel arms open synchronous.

After passing the light barrier in the standing column and run out of the preadjusted hold-open
time the swivel arms will be closed again.

Does after passing the light barrier another person interrupt the light barrier, the hold-open time
will be started again.

Should another person pass the light barrier, the hold-open time will be started new again, as
long as the last person has passed the light barrier.

Does another person pass the light barrier during the swivel arms already start closing, the
swivel arms will open again and will close after the expiration of hold-open time.

5.3 Panic Function

The panic function can be triggered with a closed passage.

Only activate the panic function in an emergency with danger, fire etc.
Do not misuse the panic function to open the passageway.
Do not misuse the panic function as a personnel passageway.
Regularly check the panic function (at least once every half a year) and document the test.

Caution: The swivel arm can in case of panic be opened by 90° in both directions.
Overstretching this leads to damage of the system.
Result: Damage of the system and a panic function which does not function.

► Make sure that the swivel arm when triggering the panic function is not over-stretched.

Leaving the sales room through the system, e.g. in a case of panic, is possible insofar as there is a
corresponding counter pressure on the swivel
arm.

Through the force effect, the positioning of the swivel arm is released.
This can be moved and the passage is free.
At the same time an acoustic alarm sounds.

In the case of panic, the system can be automatically opened in the

counter direction (counter opening).

After triggering the panic function, the swivel arm automatically goes
back to the operating position (closed position).

The acoustic alarm stops as soon as the closed position is reached again.

The panic function does not work when the system is shut off.
The swivel arm is then freely moveable.

The panic direction (direction exit) is visible through a sticker on the standing columns.

For the connection of the system with a fire alarm system or the likes turn to your Turnstile Security Systems
Inc service partner.

5.6 Entry Section, Intermediate Section, Exit Section (Customer Guidance

System)
An attached entry section (V) (guide in front of the standing column)
leads the customers from the front in the coverage area of the radar and
thus recognises an entering person in time.

At the same time, the entry section secures unintentional triggering of

the radar recognition through cross traffic and thus prevents an unintentional opening
of the system.

The intermediate section (Z) (guidance between two standing columns)

with 2 fold systems secures the swivel area of the first swivel arm and
prevents leaving the entrance between the standing columns.

The exit section (N) is always after the last standing column and limits
the swivel area of the second swivel arm.

5.7 Accessories (Optional)
5.7.1 Power Supply from the Ceiling with Series 4000 Auto Gate Systems:

Note: The ceiling height must not exceed max. 6 m less.

The mains power supply can follow alternatively from the ceiling. Thus if necessary
you can do without constructional measures and rebuilding is simplified.
The Series 4000 Auto Gate columns are prepared for the power supply from the ceiling
from the
factory. The internal power supply lines for the connection in the covering cap is
integrated in the column.

With double systems, the cross connection can also follow through the ceiling.

•The accessory package "power supply from the ceiling" contains

– ceiling holder
– power supply tube (39 inches)
– clamp tube
– connection cap for the columns
– adapter

5.7.2 Tandem Radar (not with Series 4000 Auto Gate Security):
With systems without entry section, a second radar module
also covers customers coming from angles and triggers an
opening impulse.
The radar coverage areas can be adjusted individually to the
situation on location.

A combination tandem radar/exit alarm is only possible for

Series 4000 Auto Gate if the power supply does not come from
the ceiling.

5.7.3 Panic Alarm Optical or with Voice Output with

Series 4000 Auto Gate System
When activating the panic function, the panic alarm is activated.
For the serial acoustic alarm, the panic alarm can also be carried out
optically through flashing light or as voice.

The optical panic alarm is however only possible if the power supply does
not follow from the ceiling.

5.7.4 Exit Alarm (not with Series 4000 Auto Gate Security):
Using a radar, the area of the exit section is monitored for movements in the
direction of the exit.
If a person tries to leave the market through the exit section area, an alarm
appear.

The alarm can follow:

- acoustically through a siren.

- optically through flashing light (only without power supply from the ceiling)
- with voice output
- through a reasonable combination of differing types of alarms.

The acoustic alarm stops after 4 sec.

5.7.5 Digital Counter with Series 4000 Auto Gate Systems:

In the standing columns there is a digital counter in the radar head.
This shows the number of persons entering.

The recording follows:

- through the radar module which belongs to the standing column
- or through the light barrier in the entry section.

A reset key on the counter makes it possible to set the counter back to zero.

8.2 Check the Anti Panic Function

Caution: The swivel arm can in case of panic be opened by 90° in both
directions.
Overstretching this leads to damage of the system.
Result: Damage of the system and a panic function which does not function
► Make sure that the swivel arm when triggering the panic function is not over-stretched.

The swivel arm is closed.

► Try to open the swivel arm counter to the passage direction.

The swivel arm blocks the passage and does not open.
► Press with a hefty pressure against the swivel arm.
The anti-panic function is effective and the swivel arm can be opened.
At the same time an acoustic panic alarm sounds (possibly an optional further alarm
appears).
The swivel arm automatically closes again and the panic alarm shuts off.
