Issue: Designing a comprehensive and multidisciplinary rehabilitation facility

for people with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) that integrates
therapeutic environments for healing and well-being presents several
key issues and considerations, space planning and layout, sensory
design and healing elements, safety and security measures, outdoor
spaces and nature integration, flexibility and adaptability, integration
of multidisciplinary services, inclusivity and accessibility, privacy and
confidentiality, healing and therapeutic amenities, and post-
occupancy evaluation and continuous improvement. By addressing
these issues in the design of a comprehensive and multidisciplinary
rehabilitation facility for individuals with PTSD, the resulting
environment can support healing, promote well-being, and contribute
to the overall success of the rehabilitation program.

Abstract Designing a comprehensive and multidisciplinary rehabilitation facility
for individuals with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) within the
context of architecture. The built environment plays a crucial role in
supporting the healing process and promoting well-being for
individuals with PTSD. The program focuses on integrating
therapeutic principles into architectural design to create environments
that facilitate recovery, comfort, and a sense of safety. Key
considerations include sensory design, spatial planning, use of natural
elements, lighting, acoustics, and access to nature. Collaborative
efforts among architects, psychologists, therapists, and healthcare
providers are essential to ensure the effective implementation of the
program. By incorporating evidence-based design strategies, such as
biophilic design, soothing color palettes, flexible spaces, and privacy-
enhancing elements, the rehabilitation facility aims to provide a
supportive and healing environment for individuals with PTSD. Future
research should explore the impact of these design interventions on
treatment outcomes and the well-being of individuals with PTSD,
leading to the development of best practices and guidelines for
designing therapeutic environments within architectural contexts.

Possible approaches/ Mixed methods research is combining the strengths of qualitative and
methods to achieve quantitative methods in developing a stringer understanding of the
the goal research questions. In this study, convergent parallel type of mixed
method design will be used in determining the study of new programs
available worldwide to treat persons with PTSD. The purpose of this
mixed method design is to simultaneously collect both qualitative and
quantitative data, merge the data and use the results to analyze the
research problem. Instead of employing only quantitative or qualitative
research, the researcher decided to use mixed methods research to
garner relevant information about the research topic without being
limited to what each method must present. For both methods,
quantitative and qualitative, it is important for the researcher to ensure
that they do not stereotype the respondents and that they place equal
importance on both data types.

Comments / Rewrite the issue and significance of this research to properly describe
suggestions the research intention.

For the Issue, Establish the statistics available why is PTSD a concern
for the society or are there any prevailing issue that may be connected
to PTSD. Next is are there available rehabilitation center in the Philippines?
Are there any requirement to provide one? Then you can highlight
the part of your initial statement that connects architecture with rehabilitation.

For the significance, Go deeper... What is the impact of this study?

Can this serve as a standard or guide for future rehabilitation center? Due to
Kazandra Yap the stigma of the Philippines Culture, how will you impact this?
