I went to Broadway's The Fantasticks musical in Taipei. This is my first time

participated in this kind of art event. The fantastic is one of the longest running
musicals in Broadway, I’m happy that I can have the chance to see it in Taiwan. The
Fantasticks is talking about a love story of two teenager’s neighbors, Matt, and Luisa.
They try hard to be together while there are a lot of difficulties between them,
including their fathers. Their father seems to hate each other very much and is not
supportive of the relationship, but in fact, it was all under their control. The difficult
circumstances make Matt started to wonder if he really loves Luisa as much as he
thought. Because Luisa says that he is not mature enough. So he stared to lose
himself. Fortunately, in the process of two young kids trying to find the meaning of
love, they learned something that is the most important in life, which is never forgot
to stay gold, always be who you are.

“Try to remember when life was so tender, that dreams were kept beside your
pillow.” This is my favorite lyric from the song “Try to remember”, which is the first
song of the whole musical. It is the most famous song of the musical; it always
reminds me of that amazing afternoon I went to see the show whenever I heard it.
Personally, the song was talking about the indescribable affection between people.
Take myself for example, before I get into the university, I’ve never thought of I
would fall in love with any boy in our department. However, I had a crush on one of
my classmates at the first glance I saw him. It was not because of he has a really
charming appearance; it was because I could feel a special atmosphere exude from
him. I think that’s just like what the lyrics said, “That dreams were kept beside your
pillow”, I didn’t tell any of my friends that I’m into him. I just wanted to keep it as a
secret of my last few months of eighteen, and that’s also the memory I will never
forget in the future.
This trip to The Fantasticks musical is very wonderful. It makes me started to
pay attention on those art activities in Taiwan. I’m planning to join The Journey of
Love musical in April, I’m really looking forward to enjoy the amazing show again.
