Dear, President Bongbong Marcos

I am writing this to hopefully draw your attention to some pressing matters in relation to ocean
pollution. Right now, the Philippines is responsible for 36.4% of all plastic waste that makes its way to
the oceans. While this is not an issue only pertaining to the Philippines, this is almost three times the
amount of any other country. I come to you humbly and respectfully, hoping to be given a chance to
show you a solution I have developed for this problem. I understand it is not something that will
happen overnight, but if done correctly it could lead to the repair and preservation of all oceans across
the globe.

I have written you a memo detailing some of the actions your governing body could take to lower the
amount of waste that makes its way to the ocean. It details different legislative actions that would
promote recycling and less use of plastic, while also providing funding for these endeavors.

It will take effort, but it will be for a noble and respectable cause. Without action, the world
will lose the rest of our clean waters, accelerate coral reef destruction, and accelerate the pace of
global warming. This could lead to the end of many island nations, also sending some of the biggest
cities underwater, making them uninhabitable. I hope that you take the time to go over the memo I
have prepared for you and look forward to working with you. Thank you for your time.

Best Regards,

Tyler R. Flowers
