1. Ordering food and drinks. (đặt thức ăn và thức uống)
- Ex: What would you like to order?
I’d like some chicken pasta, please.
What would you like to drink?
Do you have any orange juice? I’d like some orange juice.
Would you like some dessert?
Yes. I’d like some ice cream.
- Form:

S + would like + noun / to V …


Would you like + noun / to V …?

- Use: We use “would like” to make a polite request


- Note: would like = want

2. Countable and uncountable noun (danh từ đếm được và không đếm được)
- Countable nouns: we can count countable nouns
Ex: One book, two bikes, three houses, four chairs, forty five students …
- Uncountable nouns: we cannot count uncountable nouns
Ex: rice, milk, water, orange juice, money, hair, …
- Plural nouns: count. noun + s/es
Ex: one car  six cars one hats  three hats
one bus  ten buses one bike  two bikes
- Notes:
+ Noun ends in ch /tʃ/, x /eks/, s/ ss /s/, sh /ʃ/, ge /dʒ/, z /z/ , we add the plural suffix -es /ɪz/
+ Noun ends in o + s/es: tomatoes, potatoes, heroes, kilos, photos, videos, pianos …
+ baby  babies, city  cities (trước y là phụ âm)
+ key  keys, boy  boys, toy  toys (trước y là nguyên âm)
+ f / fe  v + es: life  lives, leaf  leaves, shelf  shelves, knife  knives, but roof  roofs
+ Irregular plurals: man  men, woman  women, child  children, foot  feet, tooth 
teeth, fish  fish, sheep  sheep, dozen  dozen, buffalo  buffalo
+ Nouns always plural: pants, jeans, shorts, scissors

3. A, an , some , any
- A: before singular nouns beginning with consonant sounds
Ex: a book, a room, a house, a garden, a garage, a pool, a balcony, …
- An: before singular nouns beginning with vowel sounds “a, e, i, o, u”
Ex: an apple, an orange, an egg, an ice cream, an umbrella, …
- Some: before uncountable nouns and plural nouns
Ex: some rice, some water, some books, some trees, some houses, …
- Any: before uncountable nouns and plural nouns, for questions and negative answers
Ex: any milk, any eggs,
4. Pronunciation (phát âm)
