three times higher than the figure for those born in Asia. Over the following 15 years, the
percentage of Australians born in the UK fell to 10 million, while those born in Asia rose
steadily and reached a peak of 15 million in 2011. Meanwhile, the figures for Australians
born in other regions fluctuated significantly over the period, however, rose overall to
around 13 million in 2011. Starting at approximately 25 million in 1976, the total
Australian regions decreased to around 20 million during the late eighties and early
nineties, followed by an increase to exactly 25 million at the end of the period.
