Real Happiness

Do you remember you saying, “I would be happy if…”. When you say

that you would be happy If something happens, then that means you are

not happy not. Moreover, even when you really get it, the happiness of it

will disappear quickly and fill in that blank with another things. That’s

kind of like an infinite cycle. A fantastic way to stop it is to find or create

real happiness.

First of all, a good way to create real happiness is to list 5 or 6 things

you want to achieve this year. Usually, the things you want to achieve is

made or done by hard-working rather than money. When you achieve

your goal, you will be happier than the happiness created by money.

Moreover, by achieving that, it releases you long termed happiness

rather than releasing dopamine in which only make you happy

temporarily.

Another tip to find real happiness is helping others. The term ‘others’

here not only include other people, but also include other things or

creature like animals and the environment. Moreover, you can also pay

close attention to people that are in great hunger or danger.

Simultaneously, you can also serve as a foil to know how good your life

already is or donate some money which brings real happiness.

Endorphins is a chemical which brings long-term happiness, or what I

call ‘real happiness’. According to https://www.midnightmission.org,

when we assist others, our brains release endorphins (Paraphrased).

You might wonder, if I need to get real happiness, should I avoid

buying anything I want but I don’t need? The answer is no. However, you

should make a list of what you want. Then, you should see it after

several weeks and see if you still like some of those. If so, cross out the

ones that you don’t want any more and buy the ones you want. By doing

this, you can see if some of those you won’t want it after a few weeks

and spend less money. Moreover, although this may not be considered

real happiness, you can let the dopamine release for a little bit longer

than before.

As the old saying goes, “Half a loaf is better than no bread.”

Happiness is the same. In conclusion, we should be happy. Even if it is

just a short-term one.
