Analysis
In this poetry talking about love for a mother who has died, thus this poem can be classified
as a type of poetry with the theme of love and Dead. This poem tells about his very beautiful
life when he was with his beloved mother, where the care and gentle voice of the mother's
figure became something he missed when his mother was gone.
In Intrinsic element The theme the sadness memory of childhood, it seen in the last stanza
“She was there” The wind brings her soul in far away, I was alone to keep my sweet
memories, Clotted longing through your shadow. While the atmosphere is describe with sad
and disappearance. In the second and last stanza, the lines elaborate to the reader that in the
poem the someone feel sad and disappearance when he still child his mother always exist to
him but now it is only in her sweet memory.
Based on my criticism If she wants to remember her mother then she must respect the
message that her mother has given in her lifetime and apply it to the next generation like her
children and grandchildren too.
Death be not proud by John Donne
Death, be not proud, though some have called thee
Mighty and dreadful, for thou art not so;
For those whom thou think’ thou dost overthrow
Die not, poor Death, nor yet canst thou kill me.
From rest and sleep, which but thy pictures be,
Much pleasure; then from thee much more must flow,
And soonest our best men with thee do go,
Rest of their bones, and soul’s delivery.
Thou art slave to fate, chance, kings, and desperate men,
And dost with poison, war, and sickness dwell,
And poppy or charms can make us sleep as well
And better than thy stroke; why swell’st thou then?
One short sleep past, we wake eternally
And death shall be no more; Death, thou shalt die.
Analysis
In this poetry Death is the subject of eternal fear and despair. But, this sonnet seems to say
that it doesn't have to be this way. The attacks were very focused on the pride of death. the
most interesting, and the most serious is that if a person truly believes in the soul, then Death
is nothing to worry about.
The soul lives eternally and this explains line 4, when Donne says that Death cannot kill him.
If you recognize the position of the body's subordinates in the universe and identify more
with your soul, then you cannot be killed in the ordinary sense.
Furthermore, this poem is great because of its universal application. Fear of death is a natural
instinct and Death itself is thus all-encompassing and inevitable for people, that the spirit of
this poem and its application extends to almost every fear or character weakness a person
may have.
In Intrinsic element The theme is paint a picture of death as prideful vain, even works to
deflate death’s importance by arguing firstly that death is nothing more than a rest, and
secondly that following this rest comes the afterlife, which contradicts death’s aim of
bringing about a final end. With death’s powerlessness proven by the end of the poem, it is
death itself, not man, who is going to die.
Even the creator John Donne is criticism his own creation like he say “Death not to be
something proud some people call it Death powerful but Donne claims Death is not. Death may
believe that he has defeated those who die, but Donne states those people do not truly die,
because their souls live on in the afterlife.
Analysis.
In this poetry This poem discusses the limitations and shortcomings of a person in life.
Everyone has it and Milton's blindness is a perfect example of this. His eyesight gradually
deteriorated and he became completely blind at the age of 42. This came after he served in a
prominent position under the revolutionary leadership of Oliver Cromwell in England. To put
it simply, Milton rose to the highest position of an English writer at the time and then sank
into a state of being unable to read or write on his own.
The genius of this poem comes from Milton's coping with the suffering he felt. First, he
frames himself, not as a suffering or lonely individual, but as a failed steward of the Creator:
God. While Milton is disabled, God here is made possible through the image of a king ruling
over thousands. This celestial king, his ministers and armies, and his own kingdom are
invisible to the human eye, so Milton has subtly shed most of his failures by undermining the
need for human vision.
In Intrinsic element The theme takes in England where he served under the revolutionary
leadership of Oliver Cromwell Truly this has taken more to the person felt like he became
unable to read or write on his own after he completely blind at the age of 42.
If I want to criticism is where he try to frames himself Because he has to accept his condition
no matter what happens because a destiny of God cannot be opposed and must be accepted
gracefully.
