1) Quality organic acid: which is necessary for the formation of the ester.
Depending on the expectation, the most commonly used organic acids include
acetic acid (CH3COOH), propionic acid (CH3CH2COOH) or butanoic acid
(CH3CH2CH2COOH).
2) Alcohol: We use quality alcohol for the reaction with organic acids and to
start the esterification process. As a rule, methanol (CH3OH), or ethanol
(CH3CH2OH) or propan-1-ol (CH3CH2CH2OH), depending on the quality of the
casting resin we want to produce.
3) Acid catalyst: The ester formation reaction is often carried out in the
presence of an acid catalyst. Some examples are sulfuric acid (H2SO4) or
paratoluenesulfonic acid (p-TsOH).
6) If required, we can put together our resin mixtures that adapt to the use.
