The Szirmay-design is a revolutionary new

casting resin development.

1) Quality organic acid: which is necessary for the formation of the ester.
Depending on the expectation, the most commonly used organic acids include
acetic acid (CH3COOH), propionic acid (CH3CH2COOH) or butanoic acid
(CH3CH2CH2COOH).

2) Alcohol: We use quality alcohol for the reaction with organic acids and to
start the esterification process. As a rule, methanol (CH3OH), or ethanol
(CH3CH2OH) or propan-1-ol (CH3CH2CH2OH), depending on the quality of the
casting resin we want to produce.

3) Acid catalyst: The ester formation reaction is often carried out in the
presence of an acid catalyst. Some examples are sulfuric acid (H2SO4) or
paratoluenesulfonic acid (p-TsOH).

4) Water separator: During ester formation, water may be produced as a by-

product, which reacts to the reaction as a catalyst. Therefore, it is
worth using a water separating agent, such as a molecular sieve or a
drying agent (e.g. potassium carbonate, sodium sulfate).
5) To improve UV resistance, absorbers benzophenone, benzotriazole, zinc
oxide or titanium oxide. Benzene ketone and benzulfides are used when
justified.

6) If required, we can put together our resin mixtures that adapt to the use.

7) We use green or blue cobalt as a special additive.

Thus, our resins can be cast up to a thickness of 30 cm with a low thermo tip.
