Rosemarie M. Alger submitted an assignment for her Methods of Research class taught by Mrs. Janice Capule. In the assignment, she analyzes a background study investigating the effectiveness of ICT integration in public and private schools. She determines that correlational research is the best approach because the study looks at the relationship between ICT integration effectiveness (dependent variable) and public/private school (independent variable), and the researcher cannot control or influence the variables.

Based on my understanding of the background study they provide, I
believe correlational research is the best research approach design for this. As I read over the background study, it seems that they are looking into or investigating the effectiveness of ICT integration in public and private schools. The effectiveness of ICT integration is the dependent variable of the study, while the independent variable is the public and private school. The researcher in this study was unable to control or influence any of the variables because the outcome was predicted by the study's nature. A correlation might have either a positive or negative direction.
